Yo guys, this is THE question for me: will I be able to play the campaign (not using any online feature) and still be connected to xBox live or not?
The usual suggestion, just to be safe, is to play offline until the game comes out. after the game comes out, you can play online as much as you want. May I ask how you are getting Halo 4 before the release date? Don’t tell me if it’s illegal.
meza wants to know 2
Usually Microsoft’s response is:
“If you’ve got a receipt, play away.”
Did you not ask this a while ago? I would love to know how you’re getting a hold of Halo 4 before release

I’m pretty sure that was a different guy. So either this guy had the same question or he just wants to make us all jelly

Okay, just making sure. I’d still love to know how multiple people are getting this early, hopefully not through torrents or leaks… that wouldn’t be good.

Some people pay people working at stores to secure them an early copy.
Then there’s some sites where you pre-order and you could get it early.
Or I believe downloading it from the internet with a Jtag is one of the more popular options people tend to do.
It amazes me people would do that, I mean yeah most of us are eager to get Halo 4, but that’s taking it a bit to far.
As for the topic, if you’ve pre-ordered from somewhere, and it arrives early, there should not be any problems.
Two tall men, dressed in black and wearing shades will knock on your door - proceeding to ask for you to come with them to that unfamiliar, dark van parked by the neighbour’s house.

It happens every time, some people get it early because their retailers screw up, some people get it early because of time zone differences, and of course some people do download it illegally. At least none of them get to play online until release.
Oops, sorry guys, I got lost in my BF3 stats…
I’ll play safe: I’ll play offline IF I get it early.
Nothing illegal from me here, it’s just that whenever you pre-order a game at"GAME" they often deliver one or two days before the release date. It often happens to a friend and it happened to me when I pre-ordered Halo:CEA!

Guess where I’ll pre-order…
EDIT: First time I ask, I’m not the guy “from last time”.

Pretty much this. But if you leak out the gameplay before the street date. They’ll hunt you down.
Yea, you’ll be fine playing it online.

We’re not suicidal

Don’t post gameplay on youtube, and don’t post gameplay and screen shots online.
Also, stay offline, and don’t get it until release date.
> Also, […] don’t get it until release date.
Ahah, I’m not the one who decides this.

Ha, am I the only guy wondering if this is an attempt at advertising Game? So you said that you got CEA early, one of your friends gets games early as well, and you linked the webpage for Game? This sounds like some serious advertising. If I didn’t know better, I would be ordering Halo 4 from Game right now! Because this guy says they always release games early!
> Yea, you’ll be fine playing it online.
Not sure if serious or…
Look, MS’ policy is that if you have recieved the game with a receipt of any form, you’re in the good. But if you play online you’ll bring attention to yourself, this could lead to being banned.
its perfectly safe to play the game if you’ve gotten it early, nothing is going to happen and there is no rule against it and if i’m not mistaken, the multiplayer servers go up a week in advance for the people who manage to get the game early and reviews so play away.

Paranoia! No, really. It’s not an attempt at advertising anything. I mentioned my friend cause he was the one who taught me the “get it before the release date” thing. Though, I prefer GAME better than the other big french retailer, these are the only two retailers around here, that’s all.
Back to the main point:

Well, is it? I still don’t know. One thing is sure: I won’t even try to use the online features.
