Let’s assume that the following situation came true, as I’d love to see you the community’s interesting responses:
A massive hack or system failure has caused every single computerized file holding Halo 4 (including the back-ups) to disappear. This means that Halo 4 has been lost forever and 343 Industries either has to re-make it or abandon the project entirely.
HOW DO YOU REACT?
Possible or not, post your reply anyways!
Happy Hypotheticals!
Can you be a little more specific?
> Can you be a little more specific?
Fixed.
Also, what I mean by “reaction” is asking if you’d blow up a building, cry yourself to sleep every night for 343 days? Or 77 days? Or a week?
Essentially, how you’d react and what you would do.
I would either wait longer for Halo 4 or I would not play the Halo series ever again (4 on).
Well, obviously, I’d be pissed as hell.
Uh, I’d be sad. But I wouldn’t do anything too crazy.
However, I am curious as to how much of development time is tuneing and testing and If the collective memory of 343 would be enough to essentially make the core of Halo 4 again nearly-identically. It can’t be that hard to have the playtesters list every weapon and the amount of shots it takes to kill, base movement speed, controls, ranking system, weapons, enemies, general design… etc. I think a lot of it would be in memory, and while the physical re-creation of those “lost” things would take a while, I tend to think they could nail a very similar game within half the time taken to make it in the first place?
