What if Halo 5 was H2A with different maps?

Would you be happy if Halo 5: Guardians was H2A instead with different maps?

As someone who loves Halo 2, enjoyed Halo 2 Anniversary, and completely disagrees with 343i’s design philosophy for Halo 5: Absolutely not.

Nope, H2A sucked IMO
the skill gap was low
the bullet magnetism was worst than H4
the Spartans were midgets

i only liked customs and forge.

H2A story editon is what they should’ve don’t with the MP, make it a H2 reskinn.

Do you mean literally Halo 2A? Like, the same sandbox and movement/shooting mechanics? Then no, not really.

Now if you were to say Halo Ce with new weapons, new maps, and balance tweaks…that would be a hard question.

Nope.

Besides the flaws with Halo 2A over actual Halo 2.

As we’ve always said, just because we don’t like the direction with Halo 5 doesn’t mean we want Halo 2 again.

No. CE, 2, 3, Reach, 4, 2a, all had flaws, especially a lot of the early games like CE and 3.
Halo 5 guardians is more of what I want. Closer and closer to what halo should be I believe.

I’d be less disappointed, but not necessarily happy considering H2A has flaws that Halo 2 didn’t have. Halo 3 improved upon Halo 2 in a bunch of ways, so if it was basically Halo 3’s mechanics with some gameplay improvements and adjustments for faster play with different maps, sure. That’s something I’d give them my money for.

To put it bluntly, I would play every Halo game from this point onward if they played exactly like TU Reach…

But I’m still going to criticize mechanics that were adversely conceived… 9 times out of 10 I can see multiple ways a mechanic could’ve been handled differently for Halo. It’s just critical thinking.

This is where the “I just want Halo 2 re-skinned” stereotype comes from.

Except re-skinning Reach technically creates a modern game.

At least, I personally feel that Reach was a modern enough game. It has essentially every feature Halo 5 currently has. Warzone in Halo 5, Invasion and Firefight in Reach. Armor customization in Halo 5, Armor customization in Reach + Elite model. Forge and customs in both.

It would look like an Apology for how Halo 4 was presented. Like Dragon Age Inquisition to Dragon Age 2.
And then you would get the typical “This is what Halo 4 should have been” tag line in a lot of comments and threads. While H2A certainly improved in the custom games area and some forging, it took a step backwards in weapon balancing by going after H2’s one but done better.

No. A reskinned is exactly what H2A is, and exactly what halo 5 shouldn’t be.

I would be happy with H2A’s engine being used for H5. Yes, there are some balance issues that would need tweaked. But, it’s a hell of a lot better than what we’ve seen in H5 in regards to gameplay and the style of shooter being attempted.

Isn’t that what Halo Reach was sopposed to be. (The game modes without the AA’s of course)

Ew

i agree

no, I want Halo 5 to be Halo 5.

No. I was actually a huge fan of H4, I am one of few who welcomes Sprint and the direction 343 took the game. Although, I’m not too crazy about how the armor looks or the “ttk” stuff.

But for me, the only thing good coming from H2A was the reskin for the campaign. Looked and sounded amazing.

It doesn’t play like Ce though. Even the Anniversary Playlist is a far cry from what Ce plays like.

Hitscan bullets, a weaker plasma rifle, different strafe acceleration and movement, etc.

Halo 2A is what Halo 5 should have been so yes that would have been an improvement over what we got since the Halo 5 beta was a disaster but at least the campaign seems ok.
