WHAT IF HALO 2 WAS RELEASED ON PLAYSTATION 2?

I’m just curios…

No…just no. Halo+Playstation+Sony security issues+hacking issues=disaster

I never liked hackers…

If Halo 2 was made for PlayStation 2 it looks like you would have to remove all those stamps on the case that say: ONLY FOR XBOX

Yeah, ONLY FOR XBOX, It will ONLY be on Xbox.

Then my childhood would’ve been complete.

Also - Xbox probably never would’ve gotten off the ground as a massive brand. But idk.

who knows… my 4th grade year in 2003 me and my brother traded all of our playstation stuff in for and xbox because of halo. and halo has been the only reason ive never gone back

Still think Halo belongs on PC. Seriously. That would be fantastic.

Or at the very least, now it should be on PC.

Then Microsoft wouldn`t have a flagship game.

When the game was announced in 99’ it was for Mac and PC. Bungie picked up the deal with Microsoft late in development. I don’t really care about Microsoft. I really don’t care about 343. I don’t know if I should care about Bungie after Destiny. I just like Halo.

Halo PC FTW.

It would of had to directly compete with games like Timesplitters.

It still had to compete with PS2 games to a certain extent. Heck, all of Xbox was crying under the weight of the monumental PS2. Halo was one of the only games that stood against it, followed later by Star Wars: KotR, MechAssault and Rainbow 6.

Nope. No, no, no, no, no, no! Halo franchise’s only for XBOX (Though Halo 1 and 2 are for PC)

Umn… no online play?

Halo 2 was beast. Sony would’ve screwed us over.

Lol wut? Not only did PS2 have online, but it still has online!! In 2010 Microsoft shut down XBL for Original Xbox so people would buy the 360. (read: Screwed us over) Star Wars Battlefront came out a month before Halo 2 on both, and its online sported 32 player maps. Absolutely phenomenal.

You mean like what Microsoft is making 343 do now? Telling you: the best thing for Halo is for it to rise above dirty console politics and take a seat among the gods on Mount OlymPC. Will Microsoft let it do that? Heck no. That’s why MCC is Xbone only. They’re paranoid and need to sell their console to validate their existence, like they were in 2010.

this is y xbox is better then the playstation…you could play HALO

Somebody told me PS2 had no online play and I’ve ran with it ever since…

¯_(ツ)_/¯

It’s was based around the game in question. XBL ran on its own servers, while PS2 had none. SW Battlefront used Gamespy on PS2. Other games probably had other organizations work out their online capabilities. That means that, instead of having one service doing online, like XBL, you had a ton of smaller online communities all using the PS2’s hardware. Some of those smaller communities have been discontinued, but a lot of them still work. It’s not as glamorous, no. But it means some -Yoink!- on management can’t destroy a console to force people to pay $400 for the same experience only shinier.

Of course, the problem with console online play is that the population shrinks dramatically when a new game comes out, much less a new console. Much much less a newer console obsoleting the new console. It still works, but it won’t have the same amount of people playing. (Still, it’s more than original Halo 2 at the moment.)
