What if that deep space anomaly was the flood, and they landed on colony world’s. This could mean that halo five plays out on chiefs end like dead space, trying to stop the spread of infection, while Locke is sent to report and aassociates the destruction with chiefs own doing. It would explain the chief monument, and the broken architecture as it was a colony, and this plot idea has been used in other stories before. I didn’t think of this until watching the trailer. Maybe there’s more to support this, maybe there’s something that makes this immediately impossible, such as how they would work other enemies into the game as there is no way I could see them adding only human or flood enemies. Perhaps the covenant-esque enemies we fight are those on thels squad at some point or some storm covies trying to harvest some flood for themselves. I don’t know, but I’m super glad that they’re throwing curveballs as “the chief is back again” is very old at this point.
Exactly what I was thinking

It was really weird because it came to me out of nowhere while watching the trailer, but there really isn’t much connection between the flood and this trailer, other than the human structures of course.
