just a hypothetical question… if bungie made Halo 4. what would it be like?
Would it be better than 343’s work? or take it even FARTHER and ruin the game?
Tell me what you guys think…

I think it would have come out about the same, just with less competitive support.

Honestly, Bungie is part of the reason Halo is like it is. They started with loadouts and AA’s in Reach. 343 mainly just built Halo 4 off of what Reach was like. I don’t think it would’ve been that different if Bungie made it.
Bungie was the one that took Halo off it’s course. Bet they intended it to happen so Destiny sold well. Jk. O.o
“WHAT IF BUNGIE MADE HALO 4?”
They would have made a -yoink- Ton of money…
I really like what 343 did with halo they made it so much better in every way. Bungie set halo on the proper path with halo 2, halo 3 was disappointing for its lack of innovation. halo reach rolls around and was awsome, then 343 rocked the house with halo 4.
I made a thread like this a few months ago, but what I said was what if Bungie made it the EXACT 100% same way 343i did it, even the EXACT music in Halo 4 being the same but it was Marty composing it.
I didn’t get any good comments in my thread, they all kept saying stuff like, “Then it would be better than what 343i did”, but I kept saying what if it was made the EXACT same way.
In conclude would you still react the same way you did with how Halo 4 turned out (which I think is a very good game btw) if Bungie made it the EXACT 100% same way it is, would you still give them negative feedback like what 343i was getting?
p.s. Remember, EXACT!
It could’ve only been better. Bungie actually wanted to make the forerunners ancient humans and have a completely different story arc.
They have way more experience anyways. It amazes me that people believe Bungie would’ve worsened it. We would’ve had a UNSC air vehicle without a doubt. We would have had old infection!
Maybe the sandbox wouldn’t have been as balanced, but that’s really it.

I think the Halo 3 terminals say otherwise.
It would turn out about the same , some differences most likely. Some people from Bungie thought halo 4 was fun.
Halo 4 is worse than Reach, think about it, the MM and ranking is broken to all hell but suddenly it’s all good now because the stuck a BR in? No it’s still broken.
I think it wouldn’t have been much different from what we have now.
Well i doubt it would be missing a ton of content, i also think the campaign most likely would be a lot better. Maybe not in terms of chief talking but in terms of everything else. As for how MM would play? Well again besides things like missing game types not being missing i dont know how different it would be.
it would probably have been similar but with better quality overall. better easter eggs, dialogue, enemies, weapons, no missing content, etc.
dont think they would have removed weapons from the map and made it entirely class based for slayer…
In all honesty, Bungie was done with Halo. After Halo 3 they were ready to call it quits and I believe Microsoft wanted two more games from them hence ODST and Reach. It should have ended with Halo 3 (with bungie as the creators.)
I don’t pretend to konw how Halo 4 would have differed had Bungie developed it, though I’m not sure “accessible” would have been the studio buzz word. In one of the older bulletins, Frankie stated that they had originally built a “more traditional Halo” and were met with blank stares by their evil overlords at Microsoft. There’s no reason to think that Bungie would have been allowed to create a more traditional game, when MS prevented 343i from doing just that.

I’m on my xbox just now (PC died) and can’t actually post links. Maybe some other kind soul will help out?
You’ve been around these forums longer than I, so I’m surprised you haven’t seen that bulletin. It’s been dragged up a number of times.

im sure i have but it doesnt ring a bell at the moment. i remember him saying they made it more traditional and other people in the studio hated it but i dont remember microsoft (although they are more evil than the empire so it wouldnt surprise me)
