What if Arena had Joining in Progress?

Reasons for how it can work.

  • Teams are always topped off, keeping the fairness of the match intact - Losses won’t count when you join a random game in progress. If you join a friend/recent player directly, the loss will still count, no matter what. This means your rank will NOT decrease as well. - Add an increase in REQ points for sticking a match you joined in progress

Teams aren’t always going to be topped off as you put it. If you quit even if you are replaced (Which wouldn’t be guaranteed) it may take a minute or two, and a minute or two down on players in otherwise even match can swing the match for the opposing team.
Even if losses weren’t counted, no one would be happy being placed in an already lost game. Counting wins but not losses is unfair.

A lot of games have JIP. Not just COD.

And this game is a joke competitively anyhow so I don’t see why JIP is a problem.

Other than League of Legends and CS:GO this is by far the most competitive game on the circuit. JIP is completely breaks the game in any game that is ranked. How would you feel if you had a diamond 6 and jumped into a game that your team is losing 45 to 19 and you lost your diamond 6 because of it? How is that fair? You’re not the reason you lost. JIP needs to stay out of ranked play lists. If your teammates quit, then yeah, that sucks, but it’s far better than the alternative.

As I mentioned before, losses do not count when you join a session in progress. This means your rank will not decrease.
