How would you feel if 343 made the decision to take Infinite offline so they could pour all recourses into fixing it and adding more content until it’s in a more launch ready state?
Kind of like, “If a tree falls in the forest and on one is around to hear it, does it make a sound?”.
“What if 343 took Halo Infinite offline to work on it?”, Would anybody notice…
I don’t think they really want to poor resources into it, especially seeing how they have handled this game for the last few months.
The game literally needs an overhaul and that will never happen.
To be fair, we said the same thing about MCC and they eventually revived it and made it into something better than we hoped it would be. It just took them about 5 years to do it…
The question is: what advantage would taking the game offline to work on it bring to anyone? The teams working on fixes and content are working on fixes and content right now. I don’t see why they would be any quicker with the game offline.
And the people working in support positions would not suddenly turn into programmers and artists by taking the game offline either - so it’s not even about split resources.
Look, the issues facing infinite right now, and I mean the big ones, aren’t fixable easily. And the only thing keeping them in line right now is pressure is coming from the market.
They put out a busted game for the broader audience, and they came and went because the game wasn’t good enough. They didn’t have a back up plan. They literally thought what they were putting out was good quality and the market slapped them in the face and kicked them out the door. Now what? Retool? Rework? Reevaluate?
Re-everything.
Thats what that feedback blog was about if you read between the lines. They wasted a fortune of not only money but of time too. If they took it offline, it would take years to fix everything that the community has identified.
What’s the landscape look in a few years?
Is halo infinite even relevant at that point?
What could 343 do to even entice players back after the reputation beating this game and the studio has received in the past 5 months?
Pull an FFXIV to fix it and redo it properly? yeh im down for that, if they can keep a vision for the future, they’d need to.
I laughed when I read that last part ![]()
