What if 343 made a survey over xbox live?

This is an idea i just came up with. I have read post upon posts stating the argument “only a small portion of the community goes on the forums, and almost all are whiners. Everyone else is to busy playing the game and having fun to come on the forums. if they did come on the forums you would realize this game is fine and the complaining threads would drown in the positive/happy threads. Bla bla bla…”

you get what i’m saying i don’t think i have to explain any further. So, here is something i thought of that i would think would require little to no work. Why cant 343 make a survey for every Xbox live member (even silver members) that you could take on waypoint and also able to take on your Xbox? It could be just one survey per gamertag.

It could contain thoughts on…

Weapon Balance

Ranking system

Opinions on new features they are adding

and so on… it could also have a small feedback box at the end if you thought the survey didn’t cover all of your thoughts.

This way you would know what the majority of the community wants. This would leave no one out.

I don’t know, i thought it was a good idea. iv never seen this been done before. but it seems so easy. but what do i know, not much. lol

what are some of your guys thoughts on this?

That would make to much sense, and they would get too much valuable data.

Why would they do that?

lol i thought it made perfect sense. why hasent this been done? uhg…

That would be cool if they did that.

I’m all up for it.

right man, absolutely every type of halo gamer could voice their opinion and they can look at the results at the end. seems easy… to easy…

Sarcasm lol but yea I would love if they did this

With their occasional “Main Menu” post for H4

I dont think itd be very hard to post:

We’ve heard some fans arent happy with our game, so tell us what you think!
-multiple qestions

And give the option to exit out of it if you dont want to take the survey

None of us are as dumb as all of us.
Nothing is dumber than humans in large groups.
Most watched videos on youtube of all time? Psy and Justin Bieber
Popular movies of the last few years? Twilight saga
Popular books? Twilight and 50 Shades of Gray

I don’t want the masses making choices, because the masses are terrible people.

Well we did it after the Reach TU came out, couldn’t hurt to try it again.

wasnt meant to be sarcasm towards you. my bad if it seemed that way

Sounds like you want less mainstream, which I completely agree, I cant stand any of that -Yoink-, nor the direction Halo is going

but 343 wants to be mainstream, if they didnt, they wouldnt have CODified halo

Now, Since 343 wants mainstream, why not get the voice of the main voice of the stream to get it there?

this is also true. there are a lot of new halo players with what might seem crazy opinions to most of us competitive old school halo players. when you put it like that this might be a terrible idea.

I just added a poll. sorry i forgot i could make them. if you have replied to this thread please vote. I’m curious.

No one want to share their thoughts on this?

They’re probably afraid of seeing that many honest opinions and making them public for that matter.

The data would be skewed as it likely wouldn’t account for all the people who have completely stopped playing.

I like this game, but it has a ton of serious issues that need to be addressed, and no amount of “do you like it or not” polling is going to help address those things regardless of where they are asked. People may not like all the complaining that goes on on this forum, but most of the things that people here complain about are justified complaints.

You’re 100% wrong with this entire statement.

A significant proportion of the Halo populace don’t even know these Forums exist TO COMPLAIN.

IE: well over 75% of my FL has no idea there are message forums on Halo Waypoint, and most complain 24/7 in my -Yoinking!- ear when we play.

Why should qualitative data take precedence over qualitative data?

What?..

I’m still confused as of your on my side or not. Are you saying my statement is wrong because if every halo player came on the forum complain threads would greatly outnumber satisfied threads. Or are you just making yourself out to be a -Yoink- hole, because if you are your last part of your post made your entire argument collapse on itself

Maybe to avoid this they could make the survey on the dashboard and have it pop up to all the players who quit, maybe track the people who moved on with the decent amount of games they played in all the older halo games

If Xbox Live survey turns out to have a positive reaction to Halo 4: “Well they’re all casuals anyway”

If Xbox Live survey turns out negative: “Haha see I told you! Halo 4 sucks!”

I can’t see it changing anything at all.
