I feel that they would be much better off, and we wouldn’t be plaing h4 right now, and maybe sometime next year instead. On top of that I bet we wouldn’t have had the problem with specs, crimson, and we would still be with MLG. But we wouldn’t get FUD :(.
I think M$FT’s greed is driving Halo down to the ground. they already ruined windows, they treat xbox buyers badly (Gold, little exclusives, game sales are a ripoff), and they’re just a bad company overall. 343i is very talented but their talent is going to waste under a publisher like M$FT.
Microsoft takes something that has a huge fanbase and good solid foundation and somehow ruins it. Why can’t they keep it the way it was before? PC’s aren’t tablets you’d think they’d realize that…
Agreed. The game issues are all Microsoft’s fault if you ask me.
The late ranking system and file share, aswell as glitches are all due to Microsoft rushing 343 (most of the issues stem from this) to so they could compete with CoD and be out for holidays. For Money.
The stupid hollywood-ified Campaign. There was fleeting moment of the Campaign that felt like Halo, ONE. For money.
Signing with -Yoink!- instead of working with MLG. For Money.
Huge hitboxes and aim-assist. For Money.
Terrible handling of promotions such as the Map Pass and “Play before the 20th” Specialization spiel.
Well, not for money, but still poor handling of DLC distribution and all that what of the other.
[Call of Duty]-esque gameplay, with perks, sprint by default, power weapons for going on killing sprees, and just overall rewards for doing nothing.

It would feel more Like they have a backbone in some ways that’s just purely from my stand point but won’t change much as they would still be contracted to -Yoink!- becuase they own the Halo series so they would still have some control.
Halo would be an RTS on the Mac if MS was never involved in Halo. That is the only logical conclusion…
It could also be the #1 played game as an RTS on the MAC, who knows if that parallel dimension exists.

I could imagine, mac would probably take off the same way the xbox did with Halo, and instead of gaming pc’s everyone would have an imac dedicated to gaming. That would be pretty interesting huh?
You guys really think MS has that much influence on how Halo 4 was developed?
I really think 99% of the stuff added to Halo has been decided by 343. MS only approves the plan presented by 343 or not, and base their estimated budget on that plan. 343 came up with COD features, not MS.
I could be dead wrong, I have little knowledge of MS’ involvment in the game design.
I doubt the Halo franchise would have had the funding and the amount of advertising it has already had with Microsoft. Obviously being one of most well known brands across the globe it has points of sale near enough everywhere and the contacts for it.
They are getting very greedy though I must admit, if 343i could get funding from elsewhere then maybe the game would be much better.

Microsoft always has and always will own Halo. I think it’s funny that now Microsoft is “ruining” Halo when they’ve been in control all along.
Unfortunately, 343 wouldn’t exist without MS. And even if they managed to get 343 together, MS still owns the rights to everything Halo. So this hypothetical goes nowhere from the beginning. You can always vote with your own wallet!
