What i would like to see in H4

For H4 I’m hoping to see some new things added and old features return. I just want this game to be fun for everyone and also work for top level professional play.

Features to return.

Ranking System,
This in my view is needed in halo games, The arena rankings from reach in my view were implemented poorly. They could have worked if there was no seasons and no minimum games per day you had to play, and you could just play as much as you want and if you were good enough you could get your rank in your own time. I would however prefer a revised H2/H3 ranking system. Just some small improvements in places to make it a fair playground for players of all skill levels. I ask for this as i have become bored of beating teams 75-15 in squad slayer and some other playlists. Not only does it get a bit boring for me, but im sure the other team does not want to get beat badly every game.

Flag running,
Yes a simple request. We had this in H2 and H3 where a player could drop and pickup the flag to move quicker, but the downside was the other team could see where you were running. In reach however you can not do this, If you drop the flag you have to wait a second or two just to pickup the flag. I have no idea why this was changed for reach.

Dual wielding.
I found it fun to dual wield in H3 while its not a big deal for me if it’s in the game or not, it’s something i would like to see back in the game.

New Features.

Spectator Mode,
With all the current streamers on JTV/Twitch I think we could do with a spectator mode. This would be a very easy way for some aspirating castors to join a big match, Stream it for others to watch and also do some casting over it. Hopefully providing a great viewing experience. This would also allow people to set up online competitions that others can watch.

Custom game Hosts,
This can sometimes be a problem when playing some custom games with other friends, There is often a poor host selected or it changes to a poor host mid game. I would like to see the ability to select a good host our self before playing some customs. Possibly by making whoever has party leader in the custom game lobby the host of the games or there may also be other ways.

Flag running was removed because people complained about the announcer (I know, it’s weak) and probably because it added another layer of tactics to Halo.

For example, for those wondering, should I flag run to move faster at the expense of the other team knowing where the flag is, or hold on to it until they see me? Not to mention throwing the flag to teammates, or throwing it to a useful position, ie, roof of Battle/Beaver Creek base.

But I’d love to see it back.

So I say go all the way and give us kill streaks but due to this being a Halo title call them Front Line Saviors …

Oh wait this is what we want in Halo 4? Ok well I then lets get rid of everything that seems like it’ll turn it into a CoD/R6 title and actually make it feel like a Halo title again shale we? :slight_smile:

Haha, there it is.

Just want to point out that you CAN run flag in Reach, it just requires you to aim upwards and jump before you throw. Which Honestly is BETTER then before, why? Because it is trickier, thus, more rewarding then just spamming the drop and pickup buttons while running in a straight line.

Rank system - Yes, my god Arena was a poor substitute

Dual wielding - Hell yah, I used to love mix and matching weapons depending on the situation. SMG + Plasma for Close Quarters, or SMG + Magnum for super quick death, Plasma + Pistol to take their sheilds out and finish with a headshot, or Double Needler for ultimate mayhem. It was awesome fun.

Spectator mode would be great for competetive play, but Judging from the screenshots, we’re gonna need all the CPU + Bandwidth available just to play this game, maybe it would be a custom games only feature.

You know ppl do it because they can move faster and capture the flag quicker that way. It’s not a stupid tactic at all.

Go play some MLG CTF on Pit and tell me it takes no skill to make the plat to green jump with the flag. Maybe the flag taken flag dropped thing is slightly annoying, But i find it more annoying that i can not run a flag quickly using skill because someone complains about a voice sound in the game.**

No news on dual wielding, I just threw it in there as a suggestion as there is no news on it.

Visually would be good if they showed damage on the spartan while you’re getting shot/meleed and armour bits breaking off untill you’re back to a basic spartan then replenish when you respawn.

If perks are coming in, make it so that it so it shows as an armour add-on or a wepaon add-on, like the jet pack you could see the jet pack. Getting over obstacles and jumping to be a bit more animated. Hope assasinations are back.

Gameplay. Yeah an improvement to the ranking is much needed to make the game play fairer. If players quit a team match have it so others can join in, fed up playing 4 vs 1.

Dual weilding was good but wouldnt miss it if its not back.

What I would like to not see in Halo 4:
Bloom
Load Outs (already confirmed so game ruined for me)
Armor Abilities
Perks
DMR/BR (already confirmed so again game ruined for me)
Unbalanced Sandbox

What I would like to see:
A Halo title that still plays and feels like Halo without the god-rifle … Uh I mean Battle Rifle and just plays like a Halo title not a CoD title.
