I played both Halo wars 2 and Halo 5’s campaign and i really do hope that in the campaign we could see Blue Team and Red Team on the same screen together. And maybe even 2 separate campaigns, kinda like in sonic adventure 2 if anyone’s played that. But really, i just want to see Jerome and master chief fight alongside each other kinda like with the arbiter in halo 3. What do you guys think about this?
They mentioned that this is a solo Master Chief campaign. Hopefully wont be seeing extra characters wasting dialogue and writers time. But I would love to see the Arbiter again. Maybe Locke could make an appearance (hopefully in a new set of armor) again in the campaign.

I’d like some good, Earth or colony-based campaign missions. I take a lot of enjoyment from the settings so I absolutely adored Reach and ODST’s campaigns a lot due to their nice, in-depth look at human settlements before and after Covenant invasions. One reason I always enjoy going back to replay those campaigns is due to those intimate looks into human colonies while I’m blasting the alien races of the Covenant. Before those two, one thing that irked me with each new Halo game was the tendency to either not have such levels (Combat Evolved) or start with a couple human levels before moving onto the typical Covenant and Halo environments (Halo 2 and 3).
Last two games were lacking in that department. Save for Ivanoff Station and fighting on the Infinity in the campaign and Spartan Ops, it was just another artificial alien world (Requieum) that we were constrained to followed by combat on an alien ship (Mantle’s Approach) in Halo 4, while in Halo 5 we had Argent Moon and Meridian (which I wasn’t too fond of) before being tossed back and forth between Sanghelios and Genesis.
With the Created taking over and Infinity heading a rebellion, I’d like a couple battle sites to take place on human worlds that have either already been taken over or are still fighting guerilla-style battles against the Created.
I’d also enjoy large AI vs AI battles. Since the first game I got a lot of enjoyment fighting alongside allied UNSC and Covenant forces, complete with vehicles. It was a tradition that kept up up until Halo 5 which was a bit lacking. Had your brief moments of fighting with civilian forces on Meridian - before they all dropped dead on the orbital elevator - while the Swords of Sanghelios offered a couple Elites to fight with before they either died too quickly or just vanished. I’d like it to be a more constant, plentiful thing as it was in previous games.
Other than that…just give me a better campaign story. Not some incomplete or mismanaged junk that was Halo 5’s story. Stay focused on a sole protagonist and journey, not divide it up with some new characters that have to fight Chief for the spotlight.

I really hope they don’t regress Chief as a character, and give him the death and development like in the novels and Halo 4.

Totally agree and I’m hoping you mean depth and not death lol.
Presently, I am introducing my wife to the halo series by replaying all the games coop ( except Halo 5 of course, damn you ! ) , which is a lot of fun and good for the relationship as she appreciates the quality time !
We started by halo reach and It reminds me why its campaign was the overall best ( halo 3 is at close 2nd ) of the halo series , especially when playing coop.
Its it’s wide open expansive missions. Where you have a few objectives that you can tackle in the order you want ( oni : sword base ) and you have different ways/vehicles / weapons to go about it.
So, to bring the fun back / replayability into the campaign for halo infinite, I wish they make it more of an open sandbox. Where you can choose and call in ( modified req system for campaign ) different weapons, vehicles and allies to help you fight big open battles. You can hijack and use a scarab or use air vehicles or use a sniper / stealth / demolition approach or go crazy with rockets / jetpacks and machine guns etc… So you can customize the way you fight your campaign ( vehicles and weapons customization ? )
So basically, include less linear missions ( some might be necessary story wise ) and more open , expansive levels .
- What about missions with different outcomes ? Have some secondary ‘‘missions / quests’’ where you go liberate / recruit allies or capture armories ( land / air vehicles / power weapons ) that you can use later on in the big final missions ? So if you didn’t activate / save the ODST’S in a secondary quest…then you can’t call them in for your final battles etc… Didn’t capture the heavy armor base ? then you can’t call in tanks to use later on etc…I think that this and the open ended missions, will add lots of replayability in the campaign. Try it with silent / sniper approach or with big vehicles or with rockets / jetpacks etc…Halo 5 added the verticality aspect which was nice, but now they can also make it more expansive and open ended.What you guys think ?

A cool thing I noticed with the original Halos is that Cortana did the talking for Master Chief.
I hope we see buck fight along side chief and arbiter as well.
We need good storytelling first and foremost. No retcon and killing off new characters in one huge explosion on the Infinity like someone suggested in another thread.
Kinda like the squad based mechanics in 5. But the return to solo gun blazing will make Legendary much more challenging.
What I would like to see is:
Character development for John. Halo 4 did that very well. But all that progress was lost and/or put on hold In Halo 5. What about his Geas?
Memorable side characters/villains. Bungie’s games had many memorable secondary characters and villains. This is sorely lacking in 343i’s campaigns. I’d hope at least for Cortana to have a 2nd in command. Someone who fills this role, like Tartarus did for the Prophets.
If they keep the warden in that role, then flesh out his character, and redesign him artistically. For all the times we fought him in 5, we learned nothing about him. I would like to know his origin, why he is who he is.
On that note, bring back some of the Bungie era characters and do them justice. Having Guilty Spark return would be good for the story because Chakas was on Zeta Halo for a time. I would love for the Rubicon to crash on Zeta Halo and for John to reunite with Spark. Put him in his head as his new A.I. For me, This is a perfect scenario. He could tell the player all bout the ring, Palaces of Pain, old human settlements etc. and also have interesting banter with John because of their history. If 343i doesn’t do this, then it’s a wasted opportunity.
