What I want from Halo 6

We already know the E3 trailer is the “opening scene” for Chief’s campaign but I would want a cut back to HOW he got there. I don’t want a small sum up of the events between Halo 5 and 6. I want more. I have invested too much time into this lore to be shafted by a “sorry chief, your team didn’t make it.” in the first scene.

Here’s what I think would be an acceptable way to handle the transition.Opening scene/E3 videoChief has flashback/The first mission is right where Halo 5 left off, old art style and all. (fire team Osiris and blue team with Sarah Palmer, arbiter and Dr Halsey on sanghelios)

They get a beacon to infinity for a pickup, make it to infinity while encountering heavy resistance from forerunners/ covenant. (maybe the arbiter goes with, maybe he stays behind and covers their exit… again.)Make it to infinity, get GEN 3 Mjolnir upgrade. (only spartans 2s, other spartans maybe can’t handle to tech?) parts ways with fireteam Osiris, Dr Halsey, and Sarah Palmer. (Dr Halsey works on a “cure” or something for Cortanas Logic Plague on Infinity, Sarah resumes command of the spartan deck on Infinity, if arbiter goes along he helps with tech upgrades to weapons and armor, example, the sword warthog in Halo 5 warzone.)

Make way to next “mission” on halo ring, leave via pelican, Guardian shows up to intercept, pelican gets wrecked before making it to atmosphere, cuts to 3 years later when chief gets picked up. Other members of blue team MIA, maybe he finds them along the way throughout the campaign while playing as “resistance” of sorts.

After investing so much into characters and development if 343i just drops all of these past characters like they were nothing. It wouldn’t be nothing. It would be lore shattering and unacceptable. And for what? To please the fans that -Yoink- all over the 343i games? I’m sorry if a Halo fan didn’t buy Halo 4 and like possibly one of the best storylines in the franchise’s history, they were not true Halo fans. Sure, Halo 5 was a mess but so was Halo 2. It was all over the place introduced a lot of new characters and a new playable character (the arbiter). It also had the worst cliffhanger of the series. Okay maybe tie with Halo 5. But what’s worse than having a mess and fixing it in your next title is AXING it completely like it didn’t happen! Own it and make it better in a way that makes sense.

I own all of the books, all the comics, I subbed to the Halo crate for the lore packets(even though we don’t get those anymore…)
The fire team Apollo was investigating Cortana after the events of Halo 5 on the Infinity. Logic Plague was heavily implied. (Halo loot crate lore)
Halo initiation follows Sarah Palmer becoming a spartan and the lead spartan on the Infinity. (comic)
Halo Escalation follows the new spartans and Infinity leading up to the events of Halo 5. (comic)

Those comics started in April 2013 and went on until nov 2015. So over 2 years of lore in comics, 2 years of lore in loot crates, and Halo 5 are all leading up to infinity and if they’re just ignored for a soft reboot that’s pretty lazy and unfair to those of us who are interested and invested in this story.

I’ll state again if this is just a clean slate game with no conclusion to the storyline of Halo 5 it’s unacceptable.

No matter how fun to play it is, I want the games to make sense while playing them back to back like in the master chief collection.

Art styles change but continuity shouldn’t.

I’ve heard before of the idea of transitioning art styles in game (somebody said that it should’ve happened in 4). But keep in mind that thus far the earliest year related to Infinite from the trailers is 2560. Halo 5 was in 2558, and GEN 3 released in 2559. So if this game really does start in 2560 like the date was shown in the first trailer (some small text on the pelican I think) then it’s perfectly plausible that they could shift without showing in game transition. A lot can change easily in 2 years.

Also a lot of people would probably be less enthusiastic about even seeing 4/5’s art style again. In addition people playing the game down the line (or people who haven’t played Halo before, which happens to be part of the target audience for Infinite) won’t understand why they had to include the transition at all.

They’re going to have customizable armors like Halo reach, if they dump the halo 5 armor styles it would be a massive waste so really the only art style changing would be chiefs right? If that’s the case they could easily do it in game.

reach customization has already been confirmed, halo 5’s customization was awful, halo 4’s was decent.

I would love to see a real ending first of all, no cliffhangers again.
All content at day 1 but still update the game to keep players playing.

Most of all of what I want is a good story

I want a good story, customizable armor, and maybe a proper forerunner. And start taking the fight back to the enemy.
