Ok what I want from Halo 5 Guardians on day one is a game that works straight out of the box, I don’t want day one patches, I don’t want broken multiplayer. It’s 2015 I expect a product I purchase to work 100% perfectly right from the minute I first use it, it’s not to much to ask for a game that works. We’ve had them before, and I think I speak on behalf of all gamers when I say this patch it a launch attitude that developers and publishers have has to end. So come on 343i release a game that works day one with out a patch, and make a lot of Halo gamers very happy.
Ahmen.

That alone would set Halo apart from every other series. Instead of focusing on DLC, the testing phase before going Gold should be so that the final product works/installs/runs day one. However, day 9ne patches are typically for things found between gold and launch, and this would be acceptable for things in the event that bugs are found AFTER the gamebrwaking ones are squashed much earlier.
Doubtful that it will gapoen, though - Playlist patches alone will probably come out before anyone gets to play them outside of the media.

True my friend, small patches are acceptable but huge ones are a complete no go.
They’re not going to stop so long as people keep pre ordering so much.
Too bad, developers don’t actually finish their games before they release them these days.

I think its incredibly sad how badly people are defending 343 for releasing the Broken-Chief-Collection, saying things like;
“IT WORKS FOR ME!”
“THEY SAID THEY’RE SORRY!”
“OMG STOP COMPLAINING!”
You see, its this toxic, cancerous, behavior that’s killing the video game industry. It doesn’t matter what their budget was, or what their time constraints were, or how competent their staff is, THE GAME WAS BROKEN, AND WE PAYED GOOD MONEY THAT WE WORKED FOR ON A GAME WE WERE EXPECTING TO AT LEAST WORK.
People just want to defend these publishers and designers so that they seem like they’re justified for buying a broken or awful game. Or because they’re shills… But that’s not the point.
It wouldn’t be that bad if they fixed it in a short amount of time, like, in a few days, or at max a week after launch. But the problem is that its been 3 months and MCC is still a mess, sure, not as nearly as bad at launch, but still pretty bad.
All of the mindless drones will say they’re experiencing “no problems whatsoever” but clearly, there are plenty of problems being experienced by the fanbase, and they aren’t being solved fast enough. Especially not by insignificant patches that just take “bites” out of the game’s bigger problems.

day 1 patches??? seriously, how long did it take you to download?
i have mid level internet and it did not take that long at all, even if it was 10 gigs or whatever
games these days have so many million lines of code, and 2015 is precisely the reason why you won’t get a perfect game
i would rather they release them as soon as they’re good enough and continue to optimize them with patches… yep MCC was a total farkup, and it was released at least one month early, but this was a special case
you want a perfect game with no patching necessary (on day-1)? probably not going to happen
