I love what 343 has been doing with the MCC. Halo is my all time favorite game franchise and I cant thank 343 enough for how much these updates have brought so much joy to me. Being able to play Halo 3 with 110 FOV with Deadzone settings, Modern Aim setting, 4k, 120fps and new armor is mind blowing seriously. What other beloved game franchise can say the same. There is just one problem I have with the current MCC. The original loading screens and menus are not being used. They even recently removed the Halo 3 loading screen from the files stopping players from being able to mod them in. This sucks so much because the current EULA says you cant restore past content. You can however go back to an old update and use the original loading screens through modding again but this sucks because you have to play on an older version of the game. The menus mean so much to me for some reason and are a huge part of the nostalgia and honestly are probably the most nostalgic part for me when I Revit the older halos on Xbox and Xbox 360. The Halo CE and 3 loading screens are the best loading screens ever. In current MCC if your playing blind like my friend was on our legendary playthrough at the last level it straight up shows you the Warthog Run. He asked me right after seeing the loading screen if everything was gonna explode and we have to escape. He didn’t assume a warthog run was about to take place again but that is still a huge huge spoiler. The MCC loading screens and Main menu are really good but the older ones are just perfection and are so iconic and memorable. The other day my brother walked into my room and saw my current background on my Series X and he had such a huge smile looking at that Campaign menu in Halo 3 with Arbiter and chief standing side by side. He immediately started talking about all the memories we had as kids playing coop Campaign. I really hope their last update add ins at least the Campaign menus because this would be the perfect cherry on top before infinite. Imagine clicking on Halo CE and seeing the original menu pop up for the campaign and then seeing that just straight iconic loading screen. I truly do think halos loading screens and menus were a huge factor to making people just love the games even more. I mean come on nothing beats finishing the Halo 3 campaign and hearing that piano just go off in Halo 3 while your staring at Chief and Arbiter. The Bungie thank you notes would also be a great thing to see also be added back to the games. I had to show my friend who was experiencing Halo 1 2 3 ODST Reach and 5 for the first time those notes on YouTube because they were a great way to end the games and really gave you this truly welcoming and warm feeling. I think 343 could capture that warm and welcoming feeling by making another note after those notes saying that they finally restored the MCC to how it should of launched and thank you for standing by to the end just like Bungie thanked us. They could also say how exited they are for the future or something along those lines. Even if its just a video of the original loading screens it would still mean so much to me and many other people I know. The loading screens in my opinion have to change. My heart dropped as soon as I saw that picture before loading into the final mission of halo 3 and why not just use the original loading screens. I just hope we can one day see that amazing Halo CE 2 and 3 menu and loading screens again in 4k 60 FPS.
