What I Think Could be Improved.

Hello everyone, I’m just taking some time today to note down things that I personally believe could be improved within multiplayer. I suppose I’ll just jump right in. Note that these are not in any particular order of concern, this is just a general list.

The BoltShot: Very, very overpowered. It’s far too good for a secondary (even for one you must purchase). I find myself often ignoring picking up shotguns, simply because my BoltShot will outdo them, and I also find myself out-shooting those with shotguns often. Not only is the one-shot ability of the pistol what I would considered overpowered, but even if you don’t one-shot them, the pistol has a high firing rate and headshot ability, meaning you can one-two combo someone with this weapon alone.

Thruster Pack: I think this is a little bit under-powered. Maybe 5-10 more feet extra should be added on to the boost range. I find that when I use it, it can occasionally help me get out of sticky situations, but not as well as it should. When I see others using it, I very rarely notice it help them.

The Battle Rifle: This is a somewhat tough one to touch on, but I think it is slightly under-tuned. It seems as though, in many situations, the DMR will out-shoot this gun. Even with the DMR having randomized bloom, it is still what I would consider to be more accurate than the BR, considering it has a faster firing rate than the BR. I believe it should either receive a damage boost or have all of its recoil taken away.

The Sticky Detonator: Not much to say about this one except that I believe it needs to be able to detonate mid-air. Currently (at least from what I’ve noticed) the grenade needs to stick to a surface before it can be, well, detonated. This should be changed so that you can “airburst” the grenades.

The Auto-Sentry: This armor ability is seriously lackluster. I haven’t personally tested it yet, but from what I’ve noticed, it does decent enough damage (for an armor ability) so that isn’t what I think is wrong. I think it just lacks a good use. Maybe if the turret could follow you around it would be useful, or maybe if it “threw” the grenades back at the target like the turrets in campaign it could be on-par with other abilities.

Map Voting: I love that the “permanent vote” feature is back and people have to make one decision and one decision only, however, I hate that I’m stuck playing “Haven Slayer” instead of Infinity Slayer. I think a system to keep a map off of the voting block for 1-2 games after it has already been voted would be nice. Note: if this is already in-place, my bad. I do notice that occasionally the maps will randomize and take the last map off of the voting block, but this can work in that maps favor as well, as randomization would generally tend to do.

That’s all I can think of at the moment, but if anything else comes up, I’ll be sure to write it down. Again, this is just my personal input on what I’ve noticed within the game so far. Other than these small complaints (suggestions, more-so) the game is perfect, and 343 definitely upheld (and even exceeded) the expectations I had / have for Halo.
