What I like and what I don’t like: Infinite

Here is what I generally find good and bad about infinite so far with a bit of time invested.

I very much enjoy the gameplay. I like the map designs and the visuals. Some new BTB modes look cool, and I like the introduction of new things like locked doors. The game is fun. If 343 wants to put halo on top they need to address a few things.

I’ll start with gameplay. I do not like that teams are based on a highlight system now. I feel as though it takes a huge element of stealth away. The radar bugs me too with the passive sensor. I spent over a decade training these eyes to watch it, and now it doesn’t show me moving enemies! That doesn’t feel like halo. I also think it’s silly to take off friendly fire and player collision. Why do this? It’s part of the battle. Sure, somebody might abuse it, but make an option to boot come back. The game feels wrong when I’m being volleyed with explosives next to enemies that should die too. My last gripe about gameplay is the random assortment of weapons appearing on the map. I personally feel maps should remain consistent but I get what they’re going for.

My least favorite thing about the game is customization. I miss being able to make my own emblem without grinding out certain crap. I never would have imagined I would have to jump through hoops to at least pick the color of my spartan, let alone invest additional money into the game. I get how it’s “free to play” so they need to make money somewhere, but I rather pay for the whole game rather than be drained for the basics of what halo used to be.

There’s a lot of potential in Infinite. I hope it isn’t wasted chasing money and trying to change what made the game great as it was.

Side note, why change the spree names? What a weird thing to be like “yep these gotta change” to.
