What i HATE about the community atm

Please take a few seconds of your time to read this comment made by another user on the forums as i believe it to be a major issue in the community. Im not calling anyone out i am merely copying and pasting the comment.

“Awww, butthurt that the DMR is superior than the BR? Get over it. BR isn’t the OP weapon it once was, and for that I thank 343 to the ends of the earth.
Its called balancing. -Yoink!- all you want, but the BR should stay how it is. If you want to stay stuck in the past, go for it, but the rest of the sane people will use the DMR and Carbine.” I repeat this comment wasnt me and rather another user on the forums.

2 major things here. 1 - Halo WAS an arena shooter where everything was even at spawn including the weapon you spawned with. In an arena shooter no1 gives a -Yoink- about weapon balance. The game is about everyone having a BR where it comes down to skill and skill alone.

2 - This guy goes on about balance and as well as being a hypocrite by saying to keep the gun where it is. He even says everyone should continue to use the carbine. The gun is underpowered. Im sick of people who dont understand the game commenting on the game like they understand it. If you want a class based shooter go play the other 99.9 percent of fps out there that cover that genre.

I agree. These are just coming from the few kids who just recently got into Halo from switching over from CoD. Kids need to learn how the past Halo’s felt and played before saying Halo 4 is superior.

The BR is an easier weapon to use. I don’t get why this is so difficult for people to grasp. There is a reason it isn’t the best all around weapon in the game.

DMR = Designated Marskmen Rifle

Was the same dominant weapon that it was in Reach. No one was complaining about the DMR’s dominance then.

The DMR will be nerfed. Say goodbye to your crutch.

> The DMR will be nerfed. Say goodbye to your crutch.

It’s hilarious how hurt people get over nothing. Is there a reason you feel the need to express your anger on the forums?

People claiming that anyone who defends this game hasn’t been around since the first halo are ridiculous. I’ve been playing every Halo game since 2001 and I think this is the best one so far.

You’re just stuck in this mindset that halo is this and halo is that, when in fact, halo is an ever evolving franchise, and that’s the way it should be. People need to learn to appreciate new things, it’s very sad how some people can’t (i.e the people who come here to whine and cry)

Embrace. Adapt. Be at peace.

Just to start off its clearly evident you spent little to no time on any halo game prior to Reach. Anyways, every single primary is easy to use on the game due to slower movement speed and from what i believe more aim assist. If we are to speak about the difficulty of the Halo 3 BR compared to the DMR in this game, then i can confidently say the BR in halo 3 took far more skill than any DMR in any game. For starters it is a burst gun so unless you are completely accurate, bullets from the burst may miss, secondly halo 3 you had to lead your shots, definately something which takes more skill.

Halo needs to be that game again where the weapon you spawn with is the weapon everyone spawns with, its called fairness which is good for competitive play.

Halo had a completely acceptable concept that even though many weapons were poo, it was all about the BR, map control team work, power weapon control ect ect, no random ordnance whatsoeva.

No starting weapon should outshine all the others.

Right now the DMR is doing that.

Most people don’t want the BR to have the total dominant status, they want it to be able to stand up to the DMR at close and mid range.

Right now…
Close range: DMR < BR
Mid range: DMR < BR
Long range: DMR < BR

How it should be…
Close range: DMR > BR
Mid range: DMR = BR
Long range: DMR < BR

Personally i hate the DMR not bc its stronger then the BR but bc it is over powered and can outclass close range weapons in cc to, What i hate about the community is people who will complain about the DMR then in turn use it themselves. I still get my kills without the DMR so its a whatever i guess.

edit: DMR and the BR are both no skill weapons, BR even more so in halo 3.

There’s bound to be a playlist coming that forces all players to spawn with (at least) the same weapons, grenades, etc. Maybe not the same abilities, if any abilities, or the same ‘perks(?)’ but it’ll be “Classic” again to most Halo players.

Personally, I feel they tried that in Reach and failed horribly but some say it went alright. Hopefully players can get a more classic feel online in the coming updates because let’s face it; there is plenty left to come. Halo has never remained the same as it was straight out of the box and hopefully never will be.

Slayer pro forces you to use a set class and not your classes

Jesus Christ, keep talking down to us oh great intelligent OP

Although I agree with the concept I haven’t used the DMR enough and have my -Yoink- handed to me by the BR enough for me not to be able to condone your example.

You know what I call people who take the oldman argument and then go aggressive? Liars.

If you’ve been following Halo that long you would have realised this happens every time a new halo is released and you wouldn’t be so upset about the whiners and crybabies to call them out specifically.

And another thing you would have realised is that through criticism improvement comes about, or in other words, evolution comes about. Complaints are what cause Halo to be an evolving franchise, not what fly against that principle.

For instance I’ve noticed with all the new mechanics that CoD so happily boasts that everyone have become jerks, if I point that out then maybe they’ll tweak something so that my team mates don’t do their best to steal my ordanance and shoot my vehicles for no discernable reason and splatter their own team mates indiscriminately because it’s no longer something that can get them kicked out the match.

Are you trolling me or being serious, it seems like you just tried to insult me for something i personally didnt even say??? The parts of that quote you highlighted are exactly what i dont like about the community, see why i used the word hypocrite.

Well, the BR has nothing to do with the DMR being overpowered. It just literally outclasses every other weapon in the game and turns games into pot shot contests.

To be honest if anyone doesn’t understand the game it seems to be you.

You’re stuck in this mindset that the game has to completely change and become something its not to be a good game.

As ive always said, halo 2s transition to halo 3 was the PERFECT kind of transition. Thank you for helping people realise what i meant about why i dont like this new community.

> The DMR will be nerfed. Say goodbye to your crutch.

So rather than do the sensible thing and buff the BR by a tiny bit so it’s back to a 4 shot weapon, you think the DMR should be nerfed, despite it working as it is intended? That would solve nothing. Both weapons would tremble under the mighty prowess of the Carbine if the DMR was to be nerfed.

I apologise as my opening post was open to interpretation, the text in quotes isnt my own words, my own words are everything but that area.

Ah, I see that now. You post makes a lot more sense then. The way the forums are designed makes it a bit difficult to notice small things like that.

I wouldn’t exactly call Halo 3 a ‘perfect transition’. A lot of people don’t seem to remember the problems that came with the game. Bullet weighting, horrendous input lag, equipment and Elite headshot problems.
