what I expect/want to return in Halo 4

Here are a list of things I want/expect to appear in Halo 4, along with what I expect not to.

Lets start with What I will expect in Halo 4
otherwise known as things that havent been confirmed nor denied yet.

Gravity Hammer: I’m sure we all wont be surprised if this was in the game, it’s too damn fun a weapon.

Plasma Rifle: now before any of you say “Storm rifle is replacing it!” I dont think of the plasma rifle as being a rifle, but more of an SMG. besides, it has all the characteristics of an SMG: it has a high rate of fire, compact size makes it dual wield-able (canon wise, I know DW isnt in H4), and powerful at close range. I also dont expect 343 to remove one of the most iconic weapons in the halo franchise.

Concussion Rifle or Equivalent: for two reasons - 1) they need a covy equivalent to the sticky detonator, which seems to be the new grenade launcher. I doupt they will keep the brute shot though, so that’s why I wrote CR instead.

Plasma Launcher: similar reason, need a covy equivalent to the Splazer. it charges up, it fires, it is often 1SK

Feul Rod Gun: again, equivalent to Rocket.

Hunters: though non of us really knew why these space worms worked for the covenant in the first place, I doubt they’d stop fighting with them now considering a few other species still fight with them too. again, a very iconic enemy in the Halo franchise. speaking of space worms…

Scarab: one of the many flaws reach had was the lack of scarab fights, but that was so you could get the feeling of being rushed; you had to deliver cortana as quickly as possible, so you didnt have time to fight giant mechanical beetles. but, with halo 4 being an actual sequel I see scarabs in our future.

What I’m sure wont be in Halo 4:

Target locator: no real reason or evidence, just a feeling. also wouldnt make much sense there being no firefight now.

needle rifle: now although I’m sure this isnt gonna be in the game, I was really wishing it would, we need more needle weapons! I was actually thinking it would be a good equivalent to the BR because of its fully auto function making it more close to mid range than the carbine. but who knows? 343 might add it in the last minute and we havent been informed all of the laodout weapons yet. I’m sure we’ll have a good amount to choose from, which brings up my previous statement about the plasma rifle.

Engineers: after ODST, I’m sure the covenant stopped relying on these flying squids, so I dont see why they’d ever return.

Pod Launcher and Flame Thrower: highly unlikely. sorry but I dont have anything to say about these two other than I just dont see them happening.

What I’m not sure will be in Halo 4

Spiker: now I’m neutral on this weapon; I see it as a slower plasma rifle, but without it, it’d be kinda weird having only 1 brute manufactured weapon. (mauler comes to mind)

Brutes: this one is on the very edge of “not sure” and “pretty sure” if it’s gonna be in the game. I have high hopes it will be in the game though. in Glasslands, it clearly stated the Elites couldnt tend to their tech without the brutes, being the engineers of the covenant and all. besides, someone needs to be holding a Gravity hammer for us to kill and take it from :slight_smile:

drones: in the similar pool of brutes in which I’m 10% sure they’ll be in and 90% not sure if they’ll even show up. then again, I dont see the reason to removing enemy variety from halo.

brute manufactured vehicles: I just WISH so badly that I could have just my beloved chopper back. gonna miss ya, Wrex.

Revenant: dont know if 343 has some other warthog equiv up their sleeves, but only time can tell.

Sentinel Beam: kinda leaning towards the “removed” side of my thoughts of whether or not it will show up, but I’d be very surprised it will make an appearance since now we have actual forerunner ordnance and not just scrap metal from a sentinel.

What I cant come to peace with that wont be in Halo 4
(note I may sound a bit obnoxious here)

SMG: WHY? WHAAAIII?! seriously though, why?! make it a secondary! nerf it! make it require 75% of the clip to kill! anything! please! I keep thinking it’s in the game but it’s not! my brain keeps saying “just wait, I’m sure there will be more weapons” I just want a proper small arms weapon that ads variety in the small arms department! PLEASE!

Grenade Launcher: we want the pro pipe. we want the pro pipe. we want the pro pipe. I can not stress that enough. oh well, hopefully the sticky D will at least satisfy some of us.

I think the Plasma Rifle is completely out of Halo 4. Not even as an SMG equivalent.

And there is some kind of flamethrower in Halo 4. Seems like a Promethean flamthrowing handgun, I don’t know exactly.

also, I know it isnt an SMG equivalent, reach didnt have an SMG and it was still in. the spiker only served a purpose because besides the plasma repeater, it was the only real assault weapon brutes used. the only reason the PR is off the hook is because it’s been here since the first

point taken

but the Vulture is basically Flying Artillery, it be More “fun” for most people (myself UNincluded) to play as chief on the front lines shooting things with a BR and AR, rather than commanding a flying Missile rack with 4 Scorpion cannons

i.e seems more like what Longswords do in H3/Reach’s campaign

forgot skirmishers, but I think they’re extinct

It was in a previous game so, it would count as a return… technically.

Flying squids? Those Engineers are the, well, engineers of the Covenant. The brutes can barely operate vehicles and weapons. While they are not engineers I do wish their return. I would like to see some brutes who can control their rage, tell right from wrong (help Master Chief and the elites against whatever enemies) and be as cooperative as elites.

The Fist of Rukt! Its the most badass weapon of the covenant and it has never been explained where it ended up.

It would also allow a return for the brutes, if it was in the hands of the elites, it could hold enough of a status symbol for them to enslave the brutes andeven fight along side them.

Not that the brutes would like this, but atleast this would allow for the return of all our beloved brute weapons (Chopper FTW!)

The Storm Rifle was indeed confirmed to be replacing the Plasma Rifle.

Also, the Engineers are more likely to return then you think. Although all the Covenant affiliated Engineers disappeared with the Prophets, they are Forerunner creations and exist on shield worlds such as Onyx. I wouldn’t be surprised if we saw a few on Requiem.

we just have wait and play and see, 343 isnt going to tell us everything. its all in the plan to have be surprised in what we will see in the future

The railgun is actually more of a equivalent to the CR and brute shot, because of how it effects vechicles. The SD just blows vechicles up. The CR,brute shot, and railgun make them do flips in the air.

I’m sure 343 has a few secrets up their sleeves.

I want the old UNSC emblem back, please 343, please. Also I would like to see Brutes, Spikers, Gravity Hammers, Plasma Rifles, Shadows, Revenants, Spectres, Choppers, SMGs, original Elites, original Grunts, original Jackals, and original Cortana to return, I know its a lot, but I don’t care if I have to wait another 6 months for release, This is my Perfect Halo.
