This will probably be my last thread before Halo 4, I am surprised someone hasn’t posted something like this yet (that I know of). Halo 4 is going to be officially released in a few hours, and I haven’t felt this excited for a game ever in my life. Halo 4 will shape the course of the Halo franchise and the fate of people’s gaming lives. If Halo 4 fails (although I don’t think that will happen but there’s always a slim chance), then 343 will have lost a lot of fans, money, and love, and many people will most likely abandon Halo.
After Halo 3, most people haven’t seen the side-project Halo games as on-par with Halo 3. For example, there’s lots of people who did not like Halo 3: ODST, Halo Wars, Halo: Reach, or Halo: CEA. But not a lot of people had much to complain about with the classic games that featured Master Chief in Bungie’s trilogy. I expect and want Halo 4 to excel in all areas; including a very emotional, gripping, immersive, and satisfying campaign supported by an incredible soundtrack (We’ve heard Neil’s music, and I think it is worthy of having in a Halo game or gameS), a significantly improved Forge, and addictive multiplayer modes. All the Halo games after Halo 3 did not have the magic that Halo 3 did or the ones before it. Although I did not own Halo 3, I played it all the time with my friends foolin’ around and eating some pizza. Just having some fun. But you couldn’t really experience that with Halo Wars, ODST, CEA, or Reach. Of course they were great games, but to most Halo fans they were not as nearly as good as Halo CE, 2, and 3. One of the most important reasons why people play video-games is to have fun, and if 90% of Halo fans do not have fun playing Halo 4 with others or enjoy ranking up and becoming a better Halo player- chances are, 343 isn’t doing something right.
Handled by a new developer and the start of a new trilogy, this is a HUGE step and move for 343 and gaming, and so it should not be poorly executed. Tomorrow we find out more and finally experience Halo 4. Are you ready?!
See you on the battlefield,
a really nice guy who loves Halo
