What I care about in Matchmaking

The only thing I would like to see in matchmaking is being able to be matched with other players and earn XP to unlock stuff. Don’t care about K/D, don’t care about ranks, don’t care about skill-matching. I am a very casual gamer, but that does not mean I am a bad gamer. Of course I like winning a match, but I am not upset about losing. I aim to unlock new armor and weapons, not for the sole fact of ranking up just to have a higher number (it’s just a number). It baffles me how much people care about those things, but as a non-competitive gamer, I have a different POV, so I can’t judge competitive gamers. But with the recent flood of rank threads, I have to ask, what does it even mean? What is a rank? Doesn’t Halo 4 already have ranks (S1-S50), and why does it matter so much to some of you?

As a casual gamer, I completely agree with you and would like answers to those questions too.

So why is it so wrong that we “not so casuals” want a seprate playlist where those things actually matter?

Just like Halo 3 they need a SOCIAL Playlist and a RANKED Playlist. So when casual gamers who don’t care about their rank can play social. Same with their guests. Nothing makes a competitive player more mad than when a casual player just runs out in the middle and gets killed 20 times because he doesn’t care. If 343 doesn’t fix this from Reach, then Halo 4 will lose a lot of fans.

I agree OP I don’t need anything but a good time! I think it’s good to be competitive. Just being over competitive is when the game becomes a job and less of a game.
