What I (A Halo 5 Lover) Would Want in Halo 6

So I’m sick of people always making posts saying Halo 5 is trash, 343 is trash, etc. There’s never anyone who cares about us, the ones that LOVE halo 5 to the core. I first got into Halo in H3, but got really bored of the same thing when going to CE anniversary and Reach. Hate me all you want, but they all felt boring after some time. I had TOTALLY forgotten about Halo being a game. But then, I heard a friend of mine saying, “yo Halo 5 is coming in a couple months!”. I didn’t give it much thought, but got it with The Xbox bundle anyways. Halo 5 has got me back into Halo, and I know I’m not the only one.

So to say, there are certain things me and other Halo 5 fans would want to return in H6. The things I’d want to see are:

  1. Thrusters
  2. Smart-Link
  3. Sprint (but to compromise, Limited time sprint i guess)
  4. Nerfed Spartan Charge
  5. Definitely Ground Pound

Of course to compromise for both sides, I wouldn’t mind a few things taken away. What it seems to me so far, nobody cares about us. The ones that will always play H5. All the “others” want is for Halo to become what it once was. I will most probably pre-order Halo 6 when it comes, and hopefully I’ll enjoy it. Truth is, I’m not a cry-baby complainer, so I won’t care one bit on what the art looks like. We all have a right to speak of our opinion, so this is mine.

I respect your views, however a lot of people would disagree with your views.
-Some don’t want smart link as it heavily affects automatic weapons.
-Some wan’t sprint others don’t hence why we have a sprint discussion thread with hundred and hundred of posts. (I personally want two multiplayer game modes, with sprint and without)

  • Some just don’t want spartan charge at all.

You talk about the 'others want [Halo] to become what it once was], however if you were a long term lover of Halo, witnessing the changes in Halo 5 and Halo 4, would concern you. Halo played differently from what it once did. Many think for the worse. OP I know you take Halo 5 as a good game and stand up for it, however you have to look at the problems as well. For example the campaign, and lack of split screen. These two elements were crucial during the Bungie years, immediately when the standard of the campaign dipped and that split screen was removed, many of us in the community felt that ‘Halo 5’ didn’t ‘feel like Halo’. Halo’s identity is slipping, if 343 continue to implement large amount of changes which distance itself from previous game play, rushing over the campaign, and pushing more for multiplayer and req points, then the population will start to decrease. People will lose interest in Halo, they will move on to other games.

You also state ‘Truth is, I’m not a cry-baby complainer, so I won’t care one bit on what the art looks like’ - so what you are saying that everyone who disagrees with the current way the art style is going is a crybaby? I personally prefer the gritty look of reach and ODST, sorry for not liking the colourful art style that I don’t associate with Halo. You shouldn’t make sweeping statements like this.

by that i referred to the people that overreact to the looks. Liking the old one is different from saying the one’s that like the current one are all idiots and 343 fanboys

I’m okay with these changes, except Spartan Charge. Really can’t stand it. I’d also like the radar to be put back to its original range.

I think my biggest issue with Halo 5 is the lack of split-screen, offline modes, and the farce that “free DLC” is, especially with micro-transactions. I also think the multiplayer maps were mostly forgettable, and the campaign was lacking.

ye id agree too. But about the DLC thing, i just think some of them should have been at launch IN THE GAME and the rest as free dlc’s, but honestly seeing other games (*cough Destiny) Halo 5 looks like a HUGE game at launch. And i didnt mention Split screen for H6 because we know it will be there. TBH though, I prefer micro-transactions over paid dlc’s. Sure they bring in the concept of “pay to win”, but I’d much rather have that than “pay to continue playing”, something other games are doing.
And the mp maps could use some work, and the one’s that did have effort put into them are just amazing imo (Fathom, Plaza, Rig etc…)

p.s: What do you mean by “offline modes”? Do you mean how many modes can be played offline? If so, yeah its pretty low.

There’s plenty of other existing wish list threads you can use to continue the discussion.
