i was just thinking the brutes arent in halo 4 at all, not even a hint of where they are, now i know this covi arent the original one we see in halo 3 etc but they still got grunts, jackals, hunters, senghili elites, but where are the brutes, they were pretty important to the army but then again brutes matched up to ODST’s no ODST’s so no brutes?
Brutes left for political reasons as they most likely don’t support/believe the covenant religon anymore aswell as the fact that there technology is very primitive meaning they are probably being bossed around by Sanghielli slave owners
Elites hate Brutes. Elites also lead this new Covenant. You do the math.

Elites and Brutes never saw eye to eye. They where only fighting on the same side because the prophets demanded it. After the covenant fell apart a few brutes stayed with the elites. But the brutes that stayed with the elites as slaves where all killed during the civil war on shanghelios.
ahh makes more sense now, cheers all, woulda been nice if they explained it more in the campaign like why the covi are against the humans now, i know its cos of a war between senghili but yeah they shoulda spoken bout it
Well, Brutes don’t do so well at fighting since they’re up against Elite Generals with Fuel Rods.
And they also don’t do so well at reproducing, since they’re all each other’s lover and you killed them.
They’re not really a species meant for success.

If the Return is still canon, then the Elites and Brutes are at war. They never really got on all that well…
The other species of the Covenant being with Jul’s forces is explainable. The Grunts probably didn’t have a choice, the Jackals are probably mercenaries, and it has been mentioned that Hunters and Elites hold each other in high esteem, so I imagine some tagged along for the ride when Jul led them to Requiem.
