What Headset to Purchase

I have been using TB HPX’s with MIXAMP for about 4-5 years now and they’ve finally called it quits. Falling apart.

I am not an Astro brand fan, they are over priced for the quality. What models do you use with MIXAMPs?

Trying to stay below $200, with mic attachment, MIXAMP still works fine.

I got the Halo Tritton Trigger pair for $70 when it came out. The sound quality is great for the price. They are a little uncomfortable when you first put them on, and after several hours of use, but you get used to them. The only problem I’ve had is that the mic doesn’t work sometimes when I start it up, but unplugging it and putting it back in has fixed it each time.

That’s what I use right now and I can also say they work very well! I haven’t had the mic problem you described, though. The overall quality is excellent, given their low price - excellent sound, they feel sturdy, and are actually quite comfortable to me!

Being used to them does make them comfortable. Seems like there’s a whole inch of padding on them.

The mic problem only happens when I have the mic cord plugged in for a while without using it. Always happens when playing with Everyday Math too. But, like I said, just plugging it back in fixes it.

Math has the same headset, but her mic cord shorted out already because her brother messed up the cord when pulling it out of the controller. That’s the only real problem I’ve heard about it, and that was user fault.

Here’s the link to the site for more info, if interested OP.

Turtle Beach X41’s. Very few wires, excellent sound quality and it is easy to set up. Best headset I have ever used! They usually retail around $100.

I don’t even use a mic. But I agree with Spartan I043.

Astro A40’s FTW!
(they’ve been amazing)

I may sound a bit cheap but I recommend the Turtle Beach X12s. They may be a bit less and wired, I think better as no batteries, but they have bass boost decent quality mic and good sound playback.
Wires are probably long enough for any play space and have served me well over two/three years.

If you are looking for a headset under $200 as much as I respect everyones opinion here on Astros to me for that price range nothing beats Turtle Beach X42’s I love my set. I have had a lot of sets and the X42’s for me tops them all. Best of luck OP in finding the best set for you.

Yeah X12s are good i use them all the time and they help me never had a problem with them.

I would suggest spending a bit more than $70 and get ones that also connect to the PC.

I’ve seen some decent head sets on sale that had 5.1 sound.

I just found this one. Which looks great.
