reach? reach cant even beat not only mw2, but it cant beat black ops, NOR can it beat mw3. THREE CALL OF DUTY GAMES individually have more population than halo reach does. if this isnt a red flag saying ‘HRM. MAYBE REACH PUSHED PEOPLE INTO PLAY COD’ i dont know what is.
> Again a game that catered to the people who were not good enough to time a melee hit properly they added a melee lunge.
lunge was added in halo 2… and are you really complaining about bungie sucking skill gap out of the game when the premise of this thread is halo reach is the greatest thing ever? my goodness.
> Halo 3 was plagued with people who used the rapid fire controllers.
this is blatantly false. using a rapid fire controller in halo 3 would provide you with literally ZERO advantage because the max fire rate of the BR was SIMPLE to maintain with even the most slow trigger fingers people have. i seriously dont know one single person who couldnt fire the BR as fast as it could possibly be fired. nor have i met anyone like this, nor have i ever heard of anyone complaining about ‘zomg too fast trigger pulls’. this is just downright false.
> Then FINALLY in September of 2010 Bungie makes their final Halo game and fixes all of the issues (with the exception of armor lock) in Halo Reach.
fixes the issues? like what?
how you USED to be able to shoot better and WIN encounters? so they ‘fixed’ it in reach so even if you are the best shooter in the entire world, and you shoot FLAWLESSLY, you can still LOSE to someone who mashes his R trigger and flails around with aiming? if thats not a cinder block to the face of fail, i really dont know what is.
or mini nuke grenades? yea. clearly in halo 3 grenades took a bit of skill to use, and skill in grenades is just TOO MUCH to handle. who the heck was having trouble throwing grenades in halo 3 so much that bungie decided ‘hey, lets just make the blast radius ridiculous, and make the fuse time nigh non-existent so regardless of how abysmal you are at the game, you can still chuck a mini nuke and see infinite success’.
or no-bleed melees? never in a halo game has melee combat been so complicated. i shouldnt have to GUESS if my shooting is EVEN VIABLE against someone sprinting at me for a melee because the melee system actually PROTECTS someone who OPTS OUT OF SHOOTING in a FIRST PERSON SHOOTER GAME. think shooting is viable 100% of the time? you’re wrong, as common sense would dictate. some of the time, your shooting literally means nothing, and is not only a waste of bullets, and ammo in your magazine, its also something that can DRAG YOU DOWN into a false sense of protection that ‘hey, if i shoot this guy who is just running at me, i’ll be able to pop his shields then melee him for a kill before he melees me twice, or melees me then goes for the headshot’. why? because like i said earlier, sometimes shooting isnt viable. not only that! when shooting IS viable (not ONE single person in the entire world knows the range in which shooting becomes viable in vanilla reach. not even the pros.), if you miss even ONE of your spammed shots (because spamming is optimal at close range), shooting could very well go back to not being viable again. its like 2 of the core game mechanics punching the player who is actually playing smart in the face, whilst rewarding the player who is doing the dumbest thing he could possibly be doing at any given time.
what does bleedthru do about this sprint + melee combo? ABOLISHES IT ENTIRELY. you literally cannot sprint + melee someone and see even 1% success with bleedthru. instead of smart players being punished for GUESSING, smart players beat the players playing poorly in the face after shooting them as if to say ‘WHY ARE YOU CHARGING ME INSTEAD OF SHOOTING. were playing HALO not ROCK EM’ SOCK EM’ ROBOTS.’. after they die a few times due to their terrible strategy, guess what happens?! THEY LEARN because the game doesnt POSITIVELY REINFORCE them for playing ABYSMALLY like no-bleed AND bloom do.
> Then 343 takes over and completely ruins the game Bungie left for us by making it similar to Halo 2 and 3. Starting with DMRs takes no skill at all.
yea, its clearly better to spawn with a weapon that cant actually compete with the DMR so that whenever you spawn, you spawn at a disadvantage to someone who has picked one up /sarcasm.
how, exactly, do you defend yourself against a sniper, or a DMR user when you spawn with a pistol and a AR? let alone 2 people with DMRs, or 3, etc.
spawning with the ability to protect yourself is spawning with a UTILITY WEAPON. halo 1’s pistol, halo 2 and 3’s BR, and halo reach’s DMR (even the flawed implementations of it). spawning at a disadvantage to someone who has picked up a DMR is just silly for competitive play.
> It completely eliminates the need for strategy on the map and controlling the weapons on the map as a team.
false. power weapons dont magically start to suck when the DMR is more consistent. people still go for power weapons in higher tier games, just like they do in lower tier games when the players know where they spawn at.
all in all, its pretty obvious you dont know what you are talking about with several issues that plague reach’s existence. did you simply not know that, in 100% bloom, you can shoot flawlessly and lose to someone full auto spamming? ‘pace your shots’ doesnt mean you will win against someone who full auto spams, but as common sense would dictate, it should. its stuff like that that makes me wonder if you really know whats going on under the hood of this ‘swansong’ of a halo game you make reach out to be.
at least you realize armor lock is a blatant fail, though. props for that.
