What has really changed?

So, Back when reach was released, I bought my legendary edition, played it for a few weeks, and sold that PoS, and melted my statue. =))

That said, I have come back to the forums the last few days out of curiosity, and I see its seen some changes. What all has changed since launch? I Loooooove halo 2, halo 3 was good but not halo 2, and reach was garbo casual friendly -Yoink-. Just to let you know what kinda gamer I am. Should I come back?

Casual =/= Noobs. Much of the casual population was actually very turned way by Reach as a whole, but I digress.

Reach now has 85% bloom on the Pistol, DMR, and NR creating a far more consistent DMR, slightly quicker kill times and pretty much eliminates the “spammers beating pacers” problem with the DMR. Although it has seems to have introduced more of a problem with the Pistol, it’s not that big of a deal and the pistol is an inconsistent piece of -Yoink- no matter what you do to it.

Armor Lock has been nerfed to where it no longer sheds stickies, and when damage is done to you the AL drains faster, so something like a Rocket will knock you out of AL.

Sword block has been removed to allow for the sword to actual be useful again.

Invis was slighlty nerfed, although no one cares about invis so IDR what was done to it.

You choose whether you would like to come back. AA’s and bloom are still there, and it is still vastly different from “core” Halo, but it is at least more enjoyable now.

Also there is a Zero Bloom playlist and the MLG playlist is pretty much Halo 2 without button combos and a superior net code.

edit: And bleed through added to all weapons and melees.

Oh, derp. Yes, bleed through to all weapons and melees.

Seems like a waste and if I may ask, where did you find game nirvana for the last year?

> That said, I have come back to the forums the last few days out of curiosity, and I see its seen some changes.

Many and it appears more on the way, of note zero bloom MLG and playlist, title updates to address some community concerns, new reforged maps, a few cool rewards via custom challenges, potential armory additions (those were just announced, but have not been implemented), many other things as well which you can find by scanning the forums and news portion of this site.

> What all has changed since launch?

343 is taking over where Bungie left off and with gusto, might I add.

> I Loooooove halo 2, halo 3 was good but not halo 2, and reach was garbo casual friendly Yoink!.

So far as I know, Reach has not transported its self and mechanics back seven years, so Im afraid you maybe disappointed, sorry =/

> Just to let you know what kinda gamer I am.

Aside from ritual burnings of figurines, leaving a game franchise is fairly normal after a few years but duly noted.

> Should I come back?

If you are a true fan of Halo in general, than at minimum you should be on Waypoint because a whole new era is about to begin and this is the ground floor, to miss this would be a mistake, even if you dont want to play Reach.

Welcome to Waypoint =)

It seems important to note that the changes mentioned above are all gametype-based. That is to say: if you’re in Matchmaking and the gametype doesn’t have “TU” in its name, then none of those changes will be active in that gametype. If you want the Title Update changes, you’ll have to vote for them.

That said, several big playlists have been converted to TU. Voting statistics over the next two weeks will be used to decide whether or not Team Slayer stays TU forever or “vanilla” forever.

I begged to differ sir! Lol-Reach hasn’t yet passed Halo2 on registration, and it has taken games from the past before Halo3 and re-released it with a Halo title at the top, ShadowRun and Counterstrike Fans are celebrating!
