Today i decided i would play halo reach after stepping away from it for about two years, and I though a good way of getting back into it was to play a game or two of grifball to have fun before going into slayer. What happened though is something i don’t understand. It started normally we all rushed the bomb and a player from the enemy team grabs so naturally i decide to try and take him down, i kill his teammates but he starts camping on a ledge above his own plant site. I get killed by an enemy before i can get to him and i notice neither the enemy team or my team are playing the game. After one round of me getting killed i decide to stop going for the bomb as i can’t get close and it basically just becomes the enemy team against me cause one of my teammates wisely left and the other two weren’t do anything. So I’m killing the enemy team but they’re also killing me then suddenly one of my teammates starts to join in on the killing, and starts betraying me. The other teammate after getting betrayed leaves and the match just ended up with me facing against the three of the enemy team while the fourth hides away and my teammate helping along. I don’t care that this happened because in reality its one match n a game, and even if it affects my stats i don’t care because my stats are meaningless to me. I just want to know why after two years of me not playing that grifball has these sorts of players who don’t play the objective and basically ruin the whole idea of the game mode.
they do this to rank up faster. the longer the match the more credits are given.
Well that’s good then cause they can get credit banned for cheating the system.
yea i went into a match recently and they had our spawn locked down with grav hammers and you literally could not spawn!

There’s nothing against it because all there doing is not playing the objective and they kill you because they want you to stop trying to get the bomb so unless you want 10,000 plus credits you might want to go elsewhere to play grifball.
One way to counter that would be to try and hit the right trigger as soon as you spawn and if they’re close enough it kills them and allows you to leave spawn.

Fair enough, i was only playing it to try and get back into halo reach cause i haven’t played halo a lot for the past 2 years, and i don’t enjoy halo 5. In all honesty it’s kind of sad that they can’t play the game properly because it is a great game and its such a waste to cheat the system like that.

Yeah I started playing reach recently again to and discovered this so I boost some myself but if everyone else is playing the objective then I will to, my only complaint is when everyone is a jerk I died 113 times one game and most of them were from my team

Yeah it rediculou so i’ve decided to blacklist grifball from future game sessions to avoid that
Ya, it really irritated me when I played a game of it like 2 weeks ago! Man, that was just horrible.
Probably to extend the length of the match so as to get as many credits as possible, at least that would make the most sense anyway. I can’t say for certain though as I haven’t played Reach in years however. If you really want to play Grifball, OP, just hop onto Halo 3 as Halo 3 Grifball has always been superior to Reach’s.

I actually didn’t think of Halo 3 grifball, the only reason i played grifball was to get used to Reach again as that is usually my sit back and relax game mode so i can get used to the controls but not have to worry about skill level, boy was it a bad idea. However Halo 3 IS a good idea. Thanks for the suggestion!
Out of curiosity how do you find a halo 3 grifball game?

Through the Halo 3 Grifball throwback playlist on the MCC. I can still find games in it pretty quickly for the most part.

It is fun, although it sucks that none of the Foundry maps are in this playlist.
Oh i thought you meant original halo 3, ill check that out in the morning as i have my 360 plugged in on my tv.
They do it to get more credits
Grifball has become nothing more but a Cr farm. If you enter it, you’re screwed, as it will affect your K\D ration negatively significantly. I didn’t though it would have come to this but I decided that Grifball needs to die. Every player just tends to exploit the Cr system and ruin the experience of their victims.

You’re out of luck, OP. The only playlists that are actually playable are Lone Wolves, Ranked and Social slayers, nothing else.

Sorry i wasn’t clear enough there, i mean i’d check out mcc grifball but couldnt last night because i was tired and my 360 was plugged into my tv. I am fully aware of how bad playlist populations are on OG Halo 3.
