What has 343 done correct in your opinion?

Although there is some negativity about the multiplayer (for good reasons…battlepass to name one) and some things that need some tweaking (like not having a warthog that doesn’t have any grip). What in your opinion has 343 done correct (Halo Infinite in general) and improved upon since the flight tests that you appreciate?

(Thought I try being optimistic today.)

I actually think the Time-to-Kill feels a tad slower and thus better than the tech test. Sure a sniper can still insta-headshot and a Needler is a deadly as ever, but I don’t feel like I get hosed down quite as fast as the tech test. Gunfights and the mobility in general feel like a nice evolution of classic Halo.

There is still some tweaking to do though, like the AR being WAY more easy to use yet as deadly as the Commando (post-nerf which lowered its damage despite being hard to use).

The Menu works fine. They nailed it, it feels intuitive.

The actual game however, well, look at the feedback.

I think the game’s core mechanics are fantastic. The weapons mostly feel good to use, the golden triangle is intact, equipment is a blast. There’s definitely a good framework to add content on top of.

Everything apart from BP xp and no normal progressions system but these are both going to be fixed.

Well for starters, Halo finally looks and sounds like Halo again. Plays nicely too. They’ve also nailed the soundtrack as well.

Pretty much everything, in my own opinion. There are things i’d like to see in Infinite like more modes and Arena stat tracking, but most everything else is great. they nailed it out of the park with this game.
Even as far as the Season 1 Battlepass goes and the free Event Battlepasses coming, I love the way they did them. You always unlock something useful with them although I wish they included Credits in the BP. Customization is the biggest it’s ever been in a Halo game, Coatings look nice and everyone looks unique.

Reverting the poor art direction from 4 and 5

The character Exuberant Witness

That’s about all I can think of

Edit: forge, grappleshot, and repulsor too

Halo 4 and 5 look good, but they don’t look Halo. I wouldn’t have minded if it was a new IP with that artstyle, but keep Halo, Halo.

What was so terrible about Exuberant witness? Although not the best, I can think of a lot of more poorly written characters.

Literally everything about the game except how it’s been monetized and the progression is great so far. separate playlists for different game modes would be nice but it doesn’t bother me too much personally. but outside a couple of things the game is a solid 8-9/10 IMO

The game is fun to play (I have to say not having a fireteam feels lonely some time), I think the TTK is fine (but some weapon really lack umph). The weapons feel great (not the battle riffle) and the grenades really fell good!
Ofcourse I hate the XP system but the rewards are nice (but not worth 5h per small upgrade).
What I love above all is the visuals but I wish the level design of some maps was better.
Also the melee dmg is a little too overpowered in casual (just empty a mag and melee to kill) but the movement is fair.

BR feels great, you’re probably one of the few people who think it doesn’t. also every halo game has had that strong of melee

Title says “in your opinion”, I loved burst riffle in previous games, the effective range (RRR) is really different (especially hip fire) and time to kill, I used to play BR a lot in H3.
My opinion towards melee is coming from Halo CE, and I’m not calling it strong compared to previous melee, I’m calling it op compared to the rest of combat mechanics in Infinite.

Read the thread title please

Double melee is a valid strat because of how quickly the player changes direction. Everyone moves like Neo

Read the entire post please, not just the title.

Mistake on my part for assuming you meant that you didn’t like the character, but still… “(Halo Infinite in general)”

It’s a bit of a curveball to throw in the post, everyone sees the title first. But yeah I see your point.
