So what happens to the XBL players who forgo buying Season 2 or any other new Season in Spartan Ops. Some of us have economic issues to others having a sense of dissatisfaction of Season 1. What does 343 do for these players, if anything?
Then you just have Season 1 sitting there as a solo only playtype with a low XP payout. Now any new player that buys Halo 4 is at a huge disadvantage because each Episode that is released the prior Episode is relegated to solo game play. Does Season 1 just fall off or does 343 support it in some way in MM.
My thoughts are convert certain sections of Season 1 to Firefights, so at least those who choose not to partake in Season 2 still have some sort of access to a Halo 4 Horde Mode with other XBL players than being limited to what’s on their friend’s list. Many have friends who have left Halo 4 so I can’t beg them to play Spartan Ops no matter how much I whine.

I believe you are confusing the second half of season 1 with the second season that is not yet even confirmed to exist.
> Complaining about something that doesn’t exist…Interesting.
I’m not complaining, I’m being proactive on a possible issue that will effect players when it comes to Spartan Ops. It’s not like 343 isn’t being really talkative on the matter so everyone sorta of knows what’s going on.
It would be cool if they did some Firefight like missions where areas have tons of enemies coming at you. Give an arcade and limited variant to please fans of both.
I am leary of a second season because of they are charging for it then that could drive player even further away.
Depends on how much they want for it. The cost of Season 1 was baked into the price of the Standard Edition, so we know right away it should not cost as much as the game. It’s a download so there’s no production cost for burning it to a disk. It shouldn’t cost more than any other standard DLC.
No skin off my back if they offer it free, but I have a sneaking suspicion that it’s going to cost something like maybe ten bucks (one buck per episode).
If there is a season 2 I’d expect us to have to pay. We are but $$$ to Microsoft and 343. Once they’ve rinsed us dry for this game they’ll move onto H5.
> I didn’t even know there was a season 2. Thought someone on here sad there wouldn’t be.
If that’s the case what do Horde Mode players do? Not everyone likes PVP, some would rather play team oriented games against the Ai. Unless they open Campaign up to Matchmaking do we go back to Reach to play Firefight Matchmaking if Spartan Ops doesn’t get a second season?
Like I stated earlier I would push for a Firefight TU for Season 1 where they select ideal locations and block them off and let us defend in a Firefight match, or they open Campaign to Matchmaking.
The easiest choice I guess would to be to simply run through Season 1 again in Matchmaking.

Please don’t adopt a victim mentality that pervades many on this forum.
IF you don’t see value in S2 (assuming it is released) then do not buy it.
IF you like the CGI, but cannot see a value in paying the money, then watch the story on Youtube.
IF it utterly repulses you, then don’t go anywhere near it.

I don’t think they should gift me Season 2 if you have to pay for it, but I do think they should be competitive and offer a match making experience in a Matchmaking Horde mode within their initial game for those who paid for it. I’m saying what does 343 do for those who choose not continue on with Season 2 if it’s something you have to pay for, if anything?
If nothing then my Halo 4 experience is truly over due to the fact I look for Horde mode game types and that’s my love in gaming. No big deal and I’ll get over it as the year progresses. I’m not that committed like some, but I will feel burned and that will transfer to my next 343 purchase down the road.
Your solution is correct, as harsh as it is. But I’ll remember that when Halo 5 drops much like I remembered how 343 handled the DLCs in Reach. I’ll never buy them not because they are bad, but because support seems to wane frequently.
As for Halo 5 no matter how great the commercials are, if they say we’re continuing with Spartan Ops, well I have Halo 4 to judge exactly how that’s going to play out come three months after the fact and that will greatly impact my decision on purchase.
