What Happens after Halsey leaves Onyx?

so I know that halsey leaves onyx through the slipspace portal, and she has the rest of blue team and the gamm spartan 3s with her, but they are never mentioned or anything throughout halo 4. Does chief know everyone is still alive? What happens to the Spartan 2s, i feel like they’d definitely be useful. Are they alive, or what? does anyone know?

Also, in the after events Chief goes AWOL searching for Cortana - or am i confused?

If you’re talking about H5 he does go AWOL but why on earth would he be searching for Cortana when HE WAS THERE WHEN SHE DIED???

We don’t know yet why he went AWOL.

You bring up a good point. I too want to know if they will be introducing these surviving spartans back into the mix.

John 117 was not aware that they were alive in Halo 4.

Linda-058, Kelly-087, Frederic-104, Lucy-B091, Tom-B292, Ash-G099, Olivia-G291, Mark-G313, Franklin Mendez, Catherine Halsey and Katana Team were rescued by UNSC Port Stanley. It wasn’t a planet, but a micro Dyson sphere and is no longer named Onyx. It’s called ONI Research Facility Trevelyan in honor of Kurt-051.

Lucy and Tom are on a classified mission according to Catalog

Katana Team is still receiving medical attention.

Ash, Mark and Olivia got their status changed from MIA (missing in action) to KIA (killed in action). Why is unknown. They were alive and well in Glasslands, but Catalog basically killed them in a forum post.

Franklin Mendez is to my knowledge doing fine and I expect that you know about Halsey.

John was reunited with Blue Team (Linda, Fred and Kelly). What they did is a big spoiler. What they are up to now is unknown.

I tried to answer your question without spoiling to much. If you want all the details, you should consider reading Halo: Glasslands.

Blue Team has been heavily requested by the fan base. Linda and Fred got voice actors for the last H2A terminal (requires you to have found all terminals in MCC). It would suprise me if Linda, Kelly and Fred aren’t in Halo 5: Guardians. What I fear though, is that they are only putting them in to kill them. 343i have been hard at work killing spartan II’s and III’s

Regarding John going AWOL, there’s no solid evidence as to why. There’s many different theories though. It’s getting late where I live. If you are interested in hearing what I think, just answer this post and I’ll make a comment here tomorrow.

I think it would be really cool if they brought them into the picture for guardians. It would make for a good dynamic, thats weird that they changed their status to KIA. Honestly surprises me that they’d randomly kill them off without saying anything. What exactly did John Fred and Linda do together? I dont really have as much time to read the books as i used to in highschool when i broke my arm. Whats up with and Kelly? are they just chilling? Also wasn’t there a fourth SII with them? I know Kurt dies but i thought someone else was with them.

John, Fred, Linda and Kelly (Blue Team) were sent to Installation 03 too investigate the loss of contact with a science team and Black Team (Margaret-053, Roma-143, Otto-031 and Victor-101). Black Team found the Ur-Didact on the ground after he fell through the slipspace portal under the composer in Halo 4. When Blue Team arrived, they were dead. The way they were killed off angered many fans. After neutralising a Promethean ambush, Blue Team found the Composer’s Abyss and a slipspace portal. The Composer’s Abyss is were those digitalized by the composer were stored. The portal brought Blue Team to the Composer’s Forge, a Forerunner installation based in a city on an unknown planet. As the name implies, the composers were built here. When they arrived they encountered a large force of Promethean Knights, Crawlers, Watchers and the Ur-Didact. The Composer’s Forge also had a monitor called 859 Static Carillon. He transported Installation 03 above the unknow planet. The Ur-Didact took another composer and headed back to Installation 03 with the intention of using it against Earth. Blue Team pursued him and engaged. The Ur-Didacts armor is able to adapt to small arms fire. Blue Team were nearly wiped out, but 859 Static Carillon saved them by teleporting the Ur-Didact away to the controll room of Installation 03. Linda, Kelly and Fred returned to their Longsword, whilst John went after him. John disabled the ring’s safeties, enabling Static Carillon to eject the segment of the ring housing the control room toward the planet housing the Composer’s Forge. The monitor teleported John to Blue Team’s Longsword just before the Halo fragment struck the Forge while the Ur-Didact was seemingly incinerated by the 5 (or 6) remaining composers. ONI consideres the Ur-Didact contained, not dead. Lord Hood told John that Blue Team should get some rest. Instead, John went back to Linda, Kelly and Fred and told them they got a new mission.

Will-043 was killed before he could enter the portal during the battle of Onyx. He engaged a hunter in melee in order to save Kurt. Will killed it, but the other hunter shot him afterwards, killing him instantly.

“Whats up with and Kelly? are they just chilling?”. I’m not sure what you mean here, could you clarify?

AndyBB1337, could you tell me what book or comic these events happened in ? Thanks.

The part about the spartan II/III’s, Halsey and Mendez got caught inside Onyx is from the end of Halo: Ghosts of Onyx. It’s a very good book in my opinion. I would recommend that you read Halo: The Fall of Reach first and then Halo: First Strike if you haven’t read them allready and you’re interested in reading The Ghosts of Onyx. The part about them walking around inside the planet (shield world) and how they escaped is from Halo: Glasslands. Halo: Glasslands is the sequel to Ghosts of onyx

The most recent post I made about Blue Team and installation 03 is from the comic Halo: Escalation Issue 8-10. The story line in Escalation is called The Next 72 Hours. I think it takes me around 10 minutes, maybe 15 too read through an issue of the Escalation comic. The comic is entertaining enough and it does cover some important stuff. You may or may not find yourself lost in Guardians if you don’t read Escalation.

AndyBB1337, thank you for the response. I am an avid reader of the Halo series. I just have not gotten to books 2,3 of the Forerunner Saga, Glasslands 2 and 3, and the comics. I was referring to the last part about the comics. Thank you for referring me to Escalation. And I agree, I could get lost in the new game. Many people did not know the events surrounding Halo 4, without the books being read.

A slight warning regarding Halo: Primordium. It’s not like the other Halo books. It’s more like man vs nature set in the Halo universe. I personally only thought the last 50 pages were worth reading. I hope you enjoy it more than I did.

SO by what’s up with Kelly i literally mean what’s she been doing? shes still alive right? I mean she was with Halsey but then I don’t remember what happened to her after. I remembered she was injured right? all the rest of Blue team is alive, but she was red team wasn’t she? I’m just trying to tie up my loose ends of knowledge.

She was with Halsey, that is correct. She was badly injured during the fall of Reach, but she recovered quickly. Halsey kidnapped her while she slept (sedated) and brought her to Onyx. They grouped up with Kurt and his spartan III’s. Fred, Linda and Will arrived shortly after and joined them. Like I said in the first post, the survivors (including Kelly) went into the core of Onyx. There’s no longer any Red Team. Earlier in the Human-Covenant war, Kelly switched between Red Team and Blue Team. The only spartan II teams known to be active are Gray Team (Jai, Adriana and Mike) and Blue Team (John, Fred, Linda and Kelly).

Kelly was almost killed though on her way into the core. She engaged several Elites with swords and a couple of hunter’s flanked her, but Holly-G003 (spartan III) pushed her away and was hit instead. Holly was vaporized.

The last official piece of lore ended with John taking Linda, Kelly and Fred on a new mission after they went to Installation 03, which I described above.

List of spartan II’s that are still alive:

Naomi-010
Jai-006
Linda-058
Kelly-087
Fred-104
Adriana-111
John-117
Mike-120
Fred-104
Maria-062 (retired, still serving in the reserves)

This list doesn’t include those who are MIA. Some of them could still be alive. Like Jerome-092, Douglas-042 and Alice-130 who disappeared along with the crew of Spirit of Fire (Halo Wars).

There’s also Spartan Group Omega which also was in Halo Wars (deployed on Arcadia), but we don’t know who’s a member of that team nor their status.

There’s nothing wrong with asking a question. If there’s anything else you’re wondering about, I’ll be happy to address it.
