Since Halo Wars 2 and its DLC awakening the Nightmare, I’ve often wondered what happened after; we know about the Fort Joshua incident, but what happened after that? We need more Halo Wars action, what do you think?

The Infinity is fleeing beyond Cortana’s reach, and the only location beyond her reach that the Infinity could go is the Lesser Ark, so we could potentially have the main story cross with the Halo Wars story.
That’s the $64,000 question, as they say. We’re waiting on Infinite to provide us some answers. And if Infinite won’t do it, then perhaps a fabled HW3 will?
