What happens after Halo the Return?

I just watched Halo the Return and it was pretty amazing.
But what happens next??? They kind of just left it in a cliffhanger.

What are you speaking of? i dont know of this.

No media has elaborated on the events of the Return or anything of that time period or later.

Halo 4 spartan ops takes place In about 2558.

> Halo 4 spartan ops takes place In about 2558.

Yeah, The Return is late 2558 or 2559. Hopefully we’ll get some media that covers this. Perhaps it’ll be covered in later season of Spartan Ops, or Halo 5, or outside of the games.

Its unknown at this point. I believe its the final timeline that we know of in the Halo Universe.

I want to know who that Elite was. A member or future member of the Storm? Or will he go off and do his own thing? It sounds like the latter, which is interesting because that would mean 3 different Elite factions at present (though the Storm may come apart during the events of Halo 4-Spart Ops). I wonder how they factor in.

From the sound of things, after the Elite Civil war, the Elites were hunting down the remaining Brutes. I would also guess that the Storm Covenant doesn’t associate with the Elites of Sanghelios, since the Storm still believe in the tenants of the San’Shyuum, and most Sangheili on Sanghelios do not.

I wonder how Sanghelios would view his ideas of the Forerunners as gods (if I remember correctly, in Glasslands the Sangheili at large looked to be increasingly secular).

I suspect that after the Kilo Five trilogy we might get a book (or series of books) on the entirety the civil war from the Sangheili perspective, as well as the Brute/Prophet extermination. Would certainly please all the Elite fans out there, as well as go into detail about what happens. Considering when Kilo Five takes place, I doubt the final book can really go deep into those topics- maybe cover the beginning.

It’ possible the final Kilo-5 book could cover the entirety of the Elite Civil War, as I assume that further Brute attacks would rally most of the Elites against their common enemy. However, I personally hope that it will finally cover the Naomi business.

Anyway, I would love to see a book dedicated to the rest of the Sangheili civil war and the ensuing Sangheili-Jiralhanae Conflict.

I doubt that- Kilo Five seems to be taking place during the first half of 2553. I get the sense that the civil war took place for a bit longer than a few week/months. Plus too many different storylines to do such a conflict justice in a few hundred pages.

A book based on the civil war and extermination must feature Thel and Rtas. I wonder what other author out there could do such a series justice? Neil Gaiman perhaps?

Most definitely! I was really sad to see the Shadow of Intent absent from The Thursday War. If I had to pick an author, Gaiman would definitely be on my list. I wouldn’t mind seeing Nylund or Buckley return, either. Since Kevin Grace wrote The Return, it wouldn’t be a bad idea to have him write such a book.

I would’ve picked Terry Pratchett personally. He takes himself way less seriously but still manages to be quite perceptive.

If we’re discussing dreams, I would like to see a comprehensive graphic novel series dealing with the Sangheili Civil War, the Sangheili/Old Covenant Remnant Wars. Like a three way free for all. Maybe with the Saprtans (Fred, Linda and Kelly leading the new Spartan IV’s) working in the shadows causing as much chaos as possible. Maybe some of it taking place on a world like Venezia, in the sense that it has multiple species living on it, if not in complete harmony.

Hmmm. The four factions fighting a shadow war for control of a world that has some new unknown Forerunner knowledge.

And it would be penned/drawn by Frank Miller and/or Niel Gaiman.

Hey, a man can dream right?

I would say written by Gainmen, and drawn/penned by Carlos D’Anda, but that’s me. Either way, a comic series about the Sangheili civil war followed by the Sangheili-Jiralhanae conflict would be nothing short of amazing!

the elite commander mentions a monitor at the end, and we know that Chawkas is some form of monitor that escaped to look for the librarian sometime soon after halo 4. so thats a possibility

I’ve been wanting to know what finding that monitor means, what role that Elite will potentially play in future Halo media, and how these events will change the Halo universe.

No it isn’t. That would be the year 2610, where some artifacts from the Fall of Reach are collected and the Museum of Humanity constructs a hand-made replica of the Battle or Earth.

The vid was cool

Probably that

Or covered in a new Halo Evolutions… I would love another one.
