What Happened to you? The real Halo Community

In its prime Halo stood far and beyond any of the FPS that were of its generation. Furthermore Halo CE, Halo 2 and Halo 3 were set as the greatest of the series, they kept the basic core of the game while adding something new here and there, ODST was a expansion to 3 but got its own little light of glory (which IMO was a great game) but aside from that Halo Reach… the game that people at first fell in love with but then after months of its release ultimately thrashed upon it insignificant flaws. People complained and complained based on game mechanics and how they equipment in H3 werent in Reach, which they were. They were just implied into the armor and combined.

Armor Lock

Apparently made the game run slower, which IMO the game still ran the same as the time never changed, people just complained because werent able to use it properly or kept getting owned by it and failed to imply a new form of approach to take the opponent down who possessed it. To me it stood fine for letting you become invincible and them shooting off the EMP, taking down anyone’s shield if they were too close and probably resulting them dying. For as a sticky coming off was a good idea, because the force of the AL would force a impenetrable shield taking little to no damage. With all the complaining Bungie/343i listened and nerfed the Armor Lock, for if you got stuck you died, if you were fired at while in it, it would reduce the time you could be in it.

Active Camo

People complained about the Active Camo because it not only hid you from enemies but threw up a jammer as well, throwing off your opponent. Now i can see were as if you had teammates and it messed with them it would cause issues but for what other reason it got nerfed was that it didnt need it, again complained and were listened to.

Other armor abilities, never really made it into the MM i guess because people just complained stating something was OP which in many cases it wasnt.

The Halo Community was once a great place to come to, enjoy Customs, look at funny screenshots, and jump into MM with a party of friends, now which everything that was once is now forgotten in the sorrows of the complainers. Because of them I can see why 343i doesnt communicate because if something doesnt fit THEIR needs they complain, which if you ask me it irrelevant because so many TU came and gone putting in and taking out so much potential that it just made the game worthless and unbareable for some people. Some of the updates were a good addition to it, bleedthrough was one, which H3 had and people had to complain about that so it was removed, bloom was reduced, and the game overall took a turn for the worse because of the poor judgement and complaining of this limited community.

What really happened to the real people on here? Who supported and helped out whenever someone needed it? It just feels bad to me because i cant even play to my fullest because i get paired with someone who, complains or finds something to complain about. My friends quit playing and went to CoD because of the consistent changes in the updates.

I would like to just have real people to have fun and enjoy a game without having to complain if something doesnt meet their needs, if anyone wants add me, just look at my page for the GT. If not then hey thats fine.

For those who read this i thank you for taking the time to do so. Leave comments on the page discussing anything regarding this topic.

I don’t see the frustration with Active Camo, if someone in your proximity is invisible, your radar will jam so you’ll be on your toes the entire time. That’s a pretty good twist to the gameplay in my opinion. Armor Lock on the other hand is something that I’m quite experienced with, but I must admit that it kind of is frustrating when practically the entire opposing team has it equipped or when you’re going for a beat down and your opponent quickly locks down and then pummels you with their own fists.

Oh, and the ‘Real’ Halo Community is indeed still alive. They may not be as easy to find, but if you look hard enough, they’re still hanging round.

AL and AC are things scrubs talk about when saying Reach is bad. Reach wasn’t as good as it could’ve been because of bloom and no ranks.

Those were definitely the biggest turnoffs for me. Kind of sucked having to pace your shots and get matched up with insanely high-ranked players that still sucked at the game.

Well regardless i think halo 4 will provide us with what we want.

I hope you’re right. But have you been to the Halo 4 forums recently? Every time we get an info drop every other thread is someone complaining about something. I’ve accepted the fact that there’s probably going to be a couple of things in Halo 4 I don’t like.

{TLDR}
It’s been that way with every other Halo game for me. I though the campaign in Halo was kind of boring and repetitive, there were whole sections that just felt copy pasted. Halo 2 had the Arbiter missions, which IMO weren’t nearly as fun as Master Chief’s. Halo 3’s campaign is WAY too short. I actually liked Reach’s campaign. It’s replay value isn’t as high as the others, but that first playthrough was In-freakin-credible. Reach’s flaws lie more in the multiplayer, really it’s just poor map design, and improper implementation of armor abilities. The AA system and the maps feel like they were designed independently, and a better job from EITHER team at implementing the other’s works would have saved the game. Oh and Reach players are jerks, who take trolling to an entirely new level, one that I hardly see anymore on the occasions that I play H3.
{/TLDR}

Despite this laundry list of complaints, I’ve still played and enjoyed EVERY Halo game. None are perfect, but all are really really good, despite their flaws.

In conclusion, just shut up and play. You don’t need to act so Yoinking! entitled all the time. (edit: this statement is directed at the incessant whiners, not Dante, glad I caught that. . .)

Nothing happened to me that’s for sure, I will always love halo, and I know that 343i is making all the right decisions :slight_smile:
