What Happened to the Wounded Soldier?

On the level Winter Contingency, just after Noble Team find Sára, they are jumped by Elites. One of them takes the wounded soldier and uses him as a shield to prevent Noble Team from firing at him. What happened to him? Is there some small detail I have been overlooking for ten years?

I asked myself the same thing ten years ago. After looking many times for his body at the end of the level, with no result, I think he was probably taken hostage by one of the Zealots or killed.

He was most like still on the planet at the end and you know how that ended. that is how he died.

The Purple/Red Zealots took him back to a super carrier and forced him to pose and engage in embarrassing Abu Ghraib like “torture scenarios” and photographing it for the Prophets to chortle at .

Actually a good question and glad others have noticed/ replayed it countless times/are weird enough to actually look for the marine. I think it points out a continuity error. (since Jorge shuts the door and locks him and 6 in with the Covenant, there is no way out.)

Yeah, the funny thing is that if you play on co-op the Zealots are actually three!

Isn’t there a marine body next to shotgun and dropshield? It may not be his but still.

I always assumed that guy was part of the same team but not the same person considering the soldier barely had any strength left.

You’re right though, he just disappeared. Maybe he was fed to the Jackals.
