what happened to the way halo used to be?

what happened to when halo used to be when it was hilariously fun and energetic? like what happened when me and a group of friends would go into a match and funny stupid stuff would happen that would make the match awesome? what happened to when I could throw a sticky grenade at a warthog and it would kill him and send the warthog flying into an object that would then go flying into two random people and we would all get a good laugh out of it? thats the halo I remember

-Lowered skill-gap and watered-down sandbox leads to less awesome moments.
-Halo 4 neglected custom gametypes, forge, and file sharing at best, and outright ruined them at worse.
-To continue in that train of thought, Action Sack and other social playlists received nowhere near as much support as they needed.
-Community has withered and died over time due to various reasons, to the point there’s a few thousand mic-less randoms occupying the games.
-Halo Reach started the serious trend of Campaigns, trying to make the Covenant more threatening and believable.

Halo 5 is coming, and has an emphasis on ESports. Too much of an emphasis. So much so that people like Quinn want Ranked Playlists pretty much across the board.

Competitive Play IS important, but to neglect the social aspect of the game just like they did in Halo 4 would be their downfall. They need to not make that mistake again.

… It’s on the MCC disc and some of us are anxiously waiting for 343i to release the updated code so we can test it so that H2A, and all the rest, can be played EXACTLY how “Halo is suppose to play.”
Of course I am also looking forward to Halo5 and its tweaks, but not complete overhaul.

Yea the game has completely lost that character. Even in serious matches you could get those amazing wtf moments. Like a -Yoinking!- cone splattering someone or a sniper shot bouncing off a wall into someone etc. I havent seen that happen ever since 3

Its gone.

They took one of the top 5 IPs in gaming and crashed it into the ground.

Its such a shame.

This.

And to top it off, the competitive community also doesnt like the new durection. You really have a game that only appeals to a small minority- non competitive hardcore fans.

I play H4 customs and BTB with a small group of mic-ed friends and it is everything that Halo always was for me. Sorry you guys aren’t finding the love, 'cause it is definitely still there.

343 turned into a CoD clone, plain and simple.

You also can not forget that the community has also gone down hill since then as well. I can not remember the last time I saw a post that was not dishing on some sort of mechanic inside the game.

I mean all of them a great reasons, forge is something that has actually improve, but it just that people don’t look a halo as a game anymore. It is more of a wish list then an actual game

Exactly

It’ll be back. We’ve only seen the Arena gameplay so far.

A developer turned into a game?

I want to play this game.

Can i turn other developers into games with it?

Also, saying there isnt that magic of halo in the recent games just because you havent seen it doesnt mean it’s there or not. The memorable moments are the ones you make and differ from every one else. Something that’s hard to do when you already have a negative view on the game.

I had a Halo moment in Halo 4 when I got stickied while assassinating someone and it looked like my knife was turned into a plasma grenade.

And I even had a halo moment in 4 on Pegasus when I ran into the enemies with a rocket launcher, aimed straight down and killed myself and three others.
