What happened to the visual wow from H2 Ann.

Halo was the first game I ever grew attached to. When I first saw 343’s anniversary release of Halo 2 I had so much optimism for the Halo Universe. The classic art style with 343’s dedication and love for the game, is what I thought to myself. My question is how come H2 anniversary, seems hype me up, more than any other Halo release to date, to include HI. Don’t get me wrong, it looks good to me. Just something, I can’t figure out what, falls short compared to H2.

Because H2A’s visuals were all done by an outside studio that specializes in utilizing visuals for maximum effect. Not to mention that H2A was just a graphical overhaul on top of the original game, since you can swap graphics with the push of a button, and multiplayer uses H4’s engine. 343 didn’t have to do a lot of work, so they were able to focus everything on visual presentation.

I had a love/ hate about H2A cinematics, it was like “OMG, IN CINEMATICS THIS GAME LOOKS AMAZING” but when you play the actual game it is completely different, I like the thing that they use the same graphic engine which they developed the gameplay with the cinematics.

this. H2A had the benefit of being a graphical improvement over its previous version (H2). Given nostalgia is a powerful drug, seeing a game you have fond memories of get an upgrade gives you more of a high then a newer game (that of course is specific to you as not everyone will feel this way)
