What happened to the vehicles? Don't Repeat This 343!

One thing i felt reach clearly lacked in was the absence of vehicles in any of their smaller 4vs4 maps. None of their maps had anything… not even a mongoose. Compare this to halo 3. 4vs4 on last resort…valhalla…highground…isolation…etc.

all of these 4vs4 sized maps (valhalla is bigger but could support fun 4vs4) had vehicles which caused more variety, chaos, and fun in small team slayer. What maps in reach had vehicles in normal team slayer?? Oh ya… none… NONE… that is until the first DLC rolled around with tempest in it which I never got paired up w/ anybody that had it…

I’m hoping for a similar variety in Halo 4. Vehicles in halo has always been the big thing to me that has set it apart from every other video game.

I never actually noticed that when I played Reach but now that I think about it really does seem noticeable. Hopefully this doesn’t happen in Halo 4

Good point. That, and Halo 3 maps were better.

I would agree with more vehicles even in 4v4 slayer, but they would have to be little vehicles like mongooses/ghosts/chain gun warthog.

words cant describe how much i’ve noticed this.

The Ghost on Snowbound shudders

lol Not if you include the Anniversary map pack… Halo 3’s maps were pretty trash too back when people played it… They only look more appealing as we look back because Reach’s maps were terribad.

On Topic: It sucks that they even took the Vehicles of some maps altogether… We never get to use a Banshee on Hemorrhage or a Guass Hog. So lame…

> Good point. That, and Halo 3 maps were better.

Ooo I don’t know about that one…

> The Ghost on Snowbound shudders

Correction, “Snowbound” shudders and starts to cry

This was something I immediately started missing once Reach came out.

Although they don’t make for uber competitive games, maps like Rat’s Nest and Sandtrap were a blast to play on in Social games. Just hop in a vehicle and have fun.

I really hope they develop some maps, even in 4v4 Slayer, to have vehicles. At the same time, I hope those maps are either not included in ranked, or the vehicles are removed.

This. It’s a shame. Don’t know why Bungie did this.

A banshee might be nice. But the Gauss will never see play on a forge level. If I recall, it can shoot through forge pieces.

The very reason Snowbound was not listed as a good memory 4v4 map w/ vehicles in the OP

I hated that map with a passion at first. But after playing Reach, then going back to Halo 3, that map was a -Yoinking!- angelic dream by comparison.

AHEM

Brute Chopper.

That is all…

I certainly hope the maps in H4 are well varied. I felt there wasn’t enough BTB maps IMO. The only two we have were MADE for Invasion and then… shudders Forge world maps. Terminal, relic, waterworls, containment, sidewinder, etc

I never liked vehicles in 4v4 anyway.

343 should take Blood Gulch and Valhalla as an example. So many amazing memories of vehicle battles across the battlefield. FUN! It adds fun to the game. So yes, I agree. 343 should not hide vehicles like Reach did.

Forge world maps were to me a major reason for my dislike of reach. While forge world was great the maps were so repetitive and gray that I never grew to fond of any of them and since reach only came w/ like 4-5 other small maps 2 of which were in the beta I almost felt cheated by the amount of maps given to us in the game. I put the game in to find that the only new maps for me to play on besides forge world were zealot (ring around the rosy), Reflection (remake) Countdown (remake) and Boardwalk (ok…) We were pretty much only given two new 4v4 maps to play on…
