I was gone for a while and there used to be 10,000 people on BTB and a lot more on other playlists. When I came back, there are only 6000-8000 people in BTB and lower in other playlists. What happened to the population?
People can play other games besides Halo.
Bioshock Infinite, Black Ops 2, Injustice, Fifa… or any other game that’s came out since launch.
It just comes to show that something with this games chemistry is awry… I only play because “I just can’t get no satisfaction” from any other title.
The truth is that no one can really stand the randomness in this game.

Other games perhaps as well as ruining BTIS by contaminating it with Pro settings/options, rather than stand alone list.

Yeah, Halocharts shows atleast a 2k player drop in Big Team Infinity the day of the Pro addition.
And of course, there are numerous games out there to play. Halo has quite a lot of competition between the rest of my game collection and my pc games.
Lmao!! blaming Pro for H4’s bad MM settings which always caused drops on the population.

No one knows or can say the truth.
Population count has to be off. Just a few weeks ago when I was on it was averaging around 30,000
Now there are 10 playlists with less than 100 people??! What? Team Throwdown has 4 people playing apparently
I haven’t been playing lately because I’m basically busy at this time of the year.

You might be seeing the backup servers. Their population counts have been showing once in a while. When i do see it, it seems to reset to the normal servers after a game.

That’s where I went, replaying it for the 8th time as I type.
Uh uh <(Peak Playing Hours)> Uh uh
The population is in decline because sausage fingers prevent windshielding.
Personally, I’m just kind of biding my time until June 3rd. I feel like there’s no point in playing when gameplay and strategies will significantly change after the weapons have been balanced. Currently, the DMR reigns supreme and I don’t like that (even though it’s my most frequently used weapon).
Recently pro was added and there was a noticeable drop in population.

I doubt this will ever happen. Every underpowered/overpowered weapon getting fixed? No way. Most of the weapons of halo 4 require little to no skill to use. The game is all about luck. With ordnance drops all you need is a binary rifle and the ammo mod and as long as you hit each target it’s instant death - that’s 8-10 kills not counting if you get 2 or more kills with each shot.
After 4 or 5 months I quit halo 4 and went back to reach. Unlike halo 4 most of the weapons in reach are pretty balanced and half of the sandbox isn’t comprised of power weapons. In reach there are 10 ‘power weapons’. I use power weapons loosly because I don’t usually think of the shotgun or concussion rifle as a power weapon. They are often hit or miss especially if the game lags. In halo 4 ther are 16 power weapons and if you are packing the ammo mod then HELLO! Longer lasting boom capability resulting in more easy kills. That’s one of the reasons why I left Halo 4 - it was too easy; and once they released multi team and -Yoinked!- it up I lost all hope. I put in the disc once a week to see what they change and so far it’s all the same bull -Yoink-. I added up the playlist numbers a week ago during peak hours, and it came up to 28000 and change. It’s only been seven months since release and the game has lost 87% of it’s player base - this is according it halo charts pop counter (410,000 during week one). For Halo this is mind boggling.
Anyway I’m playing Reach, Halo 3, and Gears of War now. It’s fast, fun, competitive, requires skill, and is relatively balanced.
Many Like my self have gone back to Halo Reach and H3 (I play both regularly now) or have moved onto other games instead of dealing with the catastrophe that is Halo 4
Can´t wait for Destny.
