What happened to the more social aspect of Halo?

Back in Halo 3, Bungie introduced “Bungie Favorites”

Where they compiled some of their favorite player made content and shared it for the whole community to experience. Updated I believe every week? (Idk it’s been forever since Bungie updated it on Halo 3.)

Hell, 343i made an attempt with it in Halo: Reach with the “Most Downloaded” and “Most Recommended” columns.
But what happened to this sort of social aspect in Halo?

We really have to look hard in searching for local game types now.

We had people making bad -Yoink- screen shots in Halo 3. And awesome maps with art within them. And the people who worked hard at it were rewarded with basically a re-post onto the Bungie Favorites.

I understand this is a new game in a sense. And there are multiple things wrong with the game and that things like having a more social friendly environment comes second in the race to fixing bugs.

Go to the community creations section.

That’s what happens when you get forge late and it’s an afterthought. People who were like “oh but forge is coming in December!!!” obviously didn’t understand that.

I don’t think it was an afterthought when more work went into it than the campaign writing.

Really? Cause if I remember correctly, the campaign existed at launch.

Both forge and campaign were letdowns because they were afterthoughts to the “more important” aspects of this game. Warzone and 60fps.

Play action sack in mcc that is what I do

Have you used the Forge?
Its way better than previous iterations, with so many more features for Forgers to use and create far higher quality maps than we have had before.
Hardly an afterthough.
An afterthought would’ve been “Oh -Yoink-, we don’t have it at launch, lets release it like it was in Halo 4 with no changes or upgrades to make it any better”

They tried making a Social Halo multiplayer and called it Halo4. it tanked.
343 then thought that we didn’t want social, just competitive, so they Made Halo 5. They then realised we wanted a mix of both. Hopefully they will give us what we want in the January update.

Yes I’ve used forge and experienced all those “features.”

All the bugs, glitches, not saving maps properly, poor file sharing, etc. It’s been the most flawless experience I’ve ever had.

I would only hope that after a decade of its existence it would offer more features.

No, an afterthought is, “You know what it’s not important enough to us to include it in the game and have it at launch so we’ll put it off until AFTER launch.” Hence, AFTERthought. If it weren’t an afterthought it would have been important enough for them to get it done and right, on time.

I’m not saying they didn’t put any effort into it, but the effort did not come before the other parts of the game that were available at launch, I can certainly tell you that.

Halo Reach community favorites just had kids making screenshots of naked anime girls with forge pieces.

Are you sure you want that level of social back? It kind of proved that fragment of the community is an anti-social mess.
