So what happened to the Janus key from Halo 4 Spartan Ops? I remember Halsey had half and gave one half to Mdama. Am I just forgetting what happened to it or was that never shown? I feel like that could be an important part in Halo 6.

Yup. Not just Spartan Ops though - ALL of ‘Halo 4’ essentially amounted to nothing. Not only that, most of the set-up for the Diadct that was done by Greg Bear in the Forerunner Saga has become - in the lead writer’s own words - “extraneous” as well. And though they had their missteps, the Kilo-Five trilogy and all it’s devlopment of Jul Mdama and ONI was wasted too. So that’s literally 5 years of setting and narrative buildup thrown entirely out the window.

Because that’s what happens when you get someone who only knows comic books to be in charge of your franchise’s story. Everything simply becomes a cheap ploy for “drama”, and the means to artificially extend the life of a series until the status quo is effectively “reset” over and over and over…

What do you mean? Of course it is! We’re just all too young and too stupid to get the “subtlety and nuance” of the situation. Besides, who wants a narrative that has logical progression and buildup, and explores healthy themes anyway? That’s boring!

All due to 343i being incompetent at basic story writing skills in addition to them, for some strange bizarre reason, thinking that turning a beloved character into -Yoink!- 2.0 (not exactly of course but you should get the idea) was a better idea than the plot they had going for five years…

Was a big -Yoink- waste of time for everybody for both 343 and the people! That could of actually made a way more interesting story than the slop we got on 5. These writer’s and story tellers wasted a opportunity to go off on. They SUCK!!!
