What happened to the feature on the main site about the new Quickplay playlist from like a week ago? I can’t find it anywhere, not even on google.
Are you talking about a Community Update mentioning Quick Play? As far as I can tell, the talk about the gamemode is limited to the forums at the moment.
There was a feature introducing it that I was reading last week… On the main site…
I remember this, is it what you’re thinking of? https://www.halowaypoint.com/en-us/forums/58b8518e005f432381ab99fbcaf931e0/topics/matchmaking-feedback-update-%E2%80%93-january-8-2018/32a5ad6d-d853-401c-a044-8136b9b8f631/posts

Yes, thank you. I’ve been trying to explain to a lot of high-level players that this playlist was geared for new players to help the declining pop. of this 3 year old game, but they’re arguing saying that it’s for everyone who wants to play. And sure, whatever, think that if you want. But then they’re bragging about getting ridiculous scores like 30-4. And I’m telling them it’s because the playlist was meant for newbs and there are a lot of them in there. They don’t seem to care and ignore the fact that it only has 3 maps (something you’d expect for a playlist introducing the game to people) & a fireteam limit of 2, specifically prohibiting teams from joining. All signs point to this being for newbs and it was stated there in that post you’ve linked me to. So thanks, that’s why I need it.

I can’t blame those higher leveled players to be honest. Everyone wants a social slayer playlist. Sadly 343 hasn’t provided us a true social slayer and now that they have this people are going to abuse it. I’d say put a cap on it. To lvl 25? It won’t stop smurf accounts going in but I’d say it get rid of most people since smurfs tend to prefer ranked low lvl people

Yeah, the real issue is that there’s no social slayer playlist anymore. That’s what it boiled down to in my discussion on the other forum I go to.

It’s meant for new people to have a starting point, but at the same time it’s the only playlist that even closely resembles a Lone Wolves playlist because of the fireteam being set to two people. So anyone who solo queues is going to want to play there because it eliminates the chances of being put against a full team, or at least reduces the chances of two teams of two.
So with most of the solo queuers going to the Quickplay playlist (because as the same implies, it’s for a quick game), look what happens to the regular Slayer playlists. They’ll all have teams in them. Any unfortunate solo queuer is going to hit ranked Slayer and then immediately matched up against a full team and most likely get stepped on.
Yeah the playlist was designed for new players, but those high level people aren’t (always) facing new players. MMR is still in effect there so it tries to match people relatively close to their level.
So really if you were one who solo queues, why wouldn’t you just stick to Quickplay? Not even Social Slayer really fixed the problem.
