What happened to the team snipers play list that was supposed to be permanent?i haven’t played halo 5 in awhile and i just got back into it and was super dissapointed with them taking team sniper back off…they need to re add it.

No one played it, so they removed it. It’s a rotational playlist now.
Team snipers & mythic shotty snipes are in rotational now
To clarify, the ranked Team Snipers playlist is gone because it wasn’t receiving enough interest to provide acceptable matchmaking quality.
If what you seek is primarily Sniper game-play what you have now are the social rotational playlists Shotty Snips and Mythic Shotty Snips. The good news is that I believe the Shotty Snips playlist is considered a “top” featured rotational, so it should appear for two weeks every 2 months or so. Unfortunately, you just recently missed both of their rotations so it might be a little while till you see either of them re-appear.
I believe the “top” featured rotations are Castle Wars, Shotty Snips, Action Sack, and Anniversary Throwback based on their popularity.
Hmmm thats a shame…they should at least make it permanent on social…it was so popular on halo reach i wonder why it wasnt on halo 5.

Removing ranked team snipers was a completely stupid thing for 343 to do. The supposed “reasoning” for their decision was even dumber.
The argument that matchmaking quality was poor in team snipers compared to everything else was, and still is, a horrible joke - I received fairer matches playing snipers then I almost ever do playing slayer and swat right now. I solo Q and routinely get matched with teams of Onyx and Champions in both playlists even if I’m ranked far below them, and to top it off they’re usually rolling in teams of 2-4 so you’re completely screwed.
Team snipers cut through a lot of the bull crap you encounter solo Q’ing or going in as a team in other playlists like swat and slayer, be it power weapon/power up -Yoink!-, spawn trapping, or any other number of stupid non-skill based things people can do that dramatically affect the outcome of matches. At least there was a non-zero skill gap in team snipers that allowed you get out of spawn trapping situations when compared to swat, and complete scrubs wouldn’t be able to just spray and pray across the map to get kills.
I realize I’m coming off a bit snarky right now, but I’m about fed up with this game because of 343’s decision (and associated joke of a reason(s)) to remove team snipers. It’s the only playlist I didn’t get consistently screwed over in due to what I mentioned above (power weapon/power up -Yoink!-, spawn trapping, etc.), and I’ve played a lot of team slayer, swat, doubles, etc. since it was removed. In addition to swat, snipers was the only playlist with a level playing field at all times because everyone had the same weapon. However, unlike swat, you actually had to be half-decent to get a kill in snipers.
I really hope 343 brings ranked team snipers back soon, because if not I’ll be even more tempted than I am right now to go find something else to do instead of halo 5 like so many other people (many of whom were very, very good overall players in halo) did after they removed team snipers.

I’m pretty sure it said in the recent community update that Shotty is going to be the next playlist to rotate in.
