What happened to team BR’s, that always got played and voted for in the MCC and on Halo 3 and I don’t even think its a slayer variant on Halo 5. Half the time when I play SWAT I always get Swatums or DMR swat. Guess 343 doesn’t want that battle rifle to be used as much

that’s dumb, the magnum seems to OP for just being a pistol compared to before (excluding Halo CE, that was just crazy) plus the smart scope on the thing sucks it makes the crosshair even smaller and overall makes it harder to hit shots so I just use it from the hip.

It’s not op tho when everything else is an automatic upgrade to it on the map. It’s reticle decreases to make longer engagements more skillful, the magnum has the idea of being a good weapon but needs to compete better vs other weapons, even tho it’s listed as a utility weapon, it can’t compete vs most precision weapons majority of the time unless the other player simply sucks.
It being a pistol really doesn’t matter and really there’s a huge difference between a magnum and a pistol. A desert eagle will blow away a 9mm pistol in power big time. Same applies to the halo magnum.
Why do you prefer the br over the magnum? Is it just the concept that it looks cooler? You’re used to it? Or do you simply think the br being a rifle should place it as the utility weapon?

This is like arguing why there isn’t pistols in team snipers…the OP is clearly asking why Team Battle Rifle mode has not been added into the play list. Cause with your reasoning, the entire shift of Halo 5 to competitive-based gaming should mean the elimination of all modes non-competitive based, like Infection and Firefight.
And again, people who use real world items to compare to VIDEO GAME world items are just ridiculous. Tell me, when you go to the shooting range how much more accurate are you with your Deagle compared to the Halo CE Pistol? You must shred up the targets with the Whispered Truth vs non-traditional real human guns?

The BR has been the main precision weapon in every other Halo it has been in (debatable in Halo 4 since the DMR was OP) so why should it not in this one? Nobody is asking for AR/Magnum starts to be removed but it would be nice to throw some BR starts into the rotation. BTB shouldn’t be the only way to play BR starts.

I gave my reasoning, the br isn’t a utility weapon. Did any halo have a magnum playlist when the br was the defacto utility weapon? No. Same applies to h5, magnum is now the utility weapon so more playlist focus will be on it rather than the br. I do have to ask how I’m giving the impression to remove social mods due to the magnum being a utility weapon.
As as for the second paragrapgh I’ll just ignore that cuz I don’t even know where you saw me mention how real life comes into play. The op said for a pistol it’s op, I told him it isn’t a pistol as there’s quite the difference between a lil dinky thing and a magnum shooting shells, huge power difference.

It isn’t, the h5 magnum is listed as the utility weapon, but it still needs improvement. The difference between h5 and CE is CE was much more viable and map pickups weren’t always straight up upgrades to it.

After halo 3 I found battle rifles to be an annoyance, and I usually try to avoid people who favor the weapon over anything else. Personally I feel the game does well leaving the BR to the sidelines.
Heres a thread that explains much better than I can on why BRs aren’t a focus in this game. In short tho, h5 is built more for the magnum, not the br.

I do too, it was a hard weapon to master, had no assist to it at all and it was and id say still is the best utility weapon in halo history.

BR spawned have worked since halo 2… What are you getting at? Do you just hate the BR because you ignored the entire competitive scene from halo before 5
