Honestly that playlist was one of the only reasons I kept playing matchmaking on Halo:Reach. Why was it taken down though? There is no other playlist available with:
5 on 5 squad slayer, with the slayer and slayer dmr gametypes on the best maps in the game like powerhouse, countdown, arena zealot, etc. Classes are limited to stealth, run, holo, and jetpack.
That was my GAME, right there!
I wanna sign a petition or something, I don’t want to lose that playlist type! It’s either that or not play Reach anymore…
Who else played Squad Slayer on Reach Matchmaking more than any other playlist?
There are changes to matchmaking every month. 343 probably felt that the population was not high enough to bother keeping it up. While it’s unfortunate that your favourite playlist was removed, you may enjoy Super Slayer. However I guess that depends on your opinion on TU settings.
Super Slayer is exactly the same as Team Slayer but with the TU applied. Squad Slayer was its own variety of Slayer set to 5v5 and had the TU applied. Super Slayer is redundant and there was no reason to remove Squad Slayer, not only b/c it ruins the variety of playlist offerings but also its population is not doing well.
343 wanted to make the game even more casual than it is now and give the middle finger to the competitive crowd.
“Herp derp let’s take out the 2nd most competitive playlist with the best team matching system and put in a derp slayer with tu settings… THEY’RE GOING TO LOVE IT!!”
Yeah the casuals love it, but for people who want more competition and don’t wanna deal with derp lock all day long squad slayer was the best playlist.
> 1. Your thread has a poll, its probably going to be moved.

> 2. The March playlist update indicated Squad slayer was going away.
If you’re referring to those welcome screens that pop up every time I log in to matchmaking, I rarely read those and if I do it’s usually a fast skim. No wonder I didn’t know about its removal.

I am taking my post from another thread of the same nature:
Squad Slayer was the ONLY reason I played Halo Reach. I absolutely adored that game type in every way, I play(ed) Halo on a daily basis, and every time I played, it was Squad Slayer. I could play that game type until the world ends. AND NOW IT IS GONE. I now have no more reason to play this game. All of my fondest Halo Reach memories were in that beloved game type, and it saddens me to think that I will no longer be able to have any more fun with this game. If this playlist isnt brought back, I will simply say goodbye to this game and trade it in. This was the only game I ever played on my Xbox, all of my other gaming is done on my computer. Microsoft, why are you doing this to me? I just simply want to play some good ole squad slayer. Is that too much to ask?

Population was not he issue, and if it was there are plenty I playlists that should have been gone before Squad.
