Forum search has disappeared. This just creates more repeat topics and helps ensure quality topics get buried too.

View all posts by user is now “access denied”. Sometimes you want to see what else a person has posted.
Were these removed for performance reasons? Both of them worked, although the AJAX calls for pagination were a bit buggy on the “view all posts by user”.
I would also like to see a new “Feed Style Feature” where the most recent posts by your buddies are collated by member and descending date order too. I would prefer to be able to just visit a page of favourite’d threads and my buddies recent posts too. If that one page was built I’m sure it would see a lot of use.
E3 happened!
Those features have been disabled ever since the forums crashed during E3. So, yes, they were removed for performance reasons.
“View All Posts” utilizes the search function, and since the ability to search has been disabled, that function doesn’t work either.
We are set to receive an overhaul in the coming weeks, so we might possibly see revival of those abilities once again! Along with some new features (hopefully)!
Where have you been? That stuff has been gone since E3, like Crazy said.
A workaround for “View All Posts” exists. Use the following Google searches – the first for a user with forum medals, the second for anyone else.
“DavidJCobb Medals” site:forums.halo.xbox.com
“DavidJCobb Rank” site:forums.halo.xbox.com
It’ll retrieve all but the user’s most recent posts – anything they wrote before Google last spidered the forums.

Cool, nice to know that an alternate way exists. I will definitely be using this.

Nice one, thanks mate.
I’m glad I looked at this post prior to posting a new topic as I had the same issue. What search box there is, I’m assuming is for the entire Waypoint site, and I have yet to get any results on my queries anyway.
I also hate starting new topics that already exist, I’d rather bump an older thread, but the ability to find them with the lack of a forum search is pretty tough.

Sometimes, it’s a good idea to start a new thread anyway. “Necroposting” very old discussions is frowned upon by a lot of people here, and tends to lead to people just replying to things that were said months ago. Starting a fresh discussion, on the other hand, tends to lead to more new ideas and insights.
I’ll go with that advice, thanks.
