Don’t you all love getting paired up with a bunch of randoms in Big Team Battle, and then a Team of 8 on the other team?
Or what about going into Double Team solo, being paired up with a random on your team (of course) and then a Team of 2 on the other team? Fair, isn’t it? Fun as a rollercoaster eh?
…it doesn’t take much brain power to realize this is not fair.
And then, because I get matched up so unfairly (I have luck for attracting noobs on my team) and must quit or be pissed off a whole game, I’m “temporarily banned” from match making. Now THAT’s cool!
Don’t be another Bungie for the love of god. Let’s be fair to both the “fun” Halo players that enjoy watching huge explosions and the “skilled” people that enjoy by winning.
I don’t mind because I’m usually the group of 8 in Big Team, or in any other playlist really.
The trick is knowing which playlists have max party/team sizes and “big party restrictions”. Then navigate the playlists appropriately!
Though I’ve been on 343’s butt for MONTHS now to get that information… The partial (I say “partial” because Bungie’s list was complete with game and map types) list from 343 is available HERE
I’ve only seen big party restrictions in place for teams of 4-5 people on the Squad Slayer Playlist.
If you quit before the game is halfway over and you’re the first one to quit, you’re just a jerk.
Stricter party restrictions would make matchmaking take much longer. That’s why they aren’t there. Bungie has historically loosened them as playlists lost population.
Sure, call me a jerk because I like to play with balanced teams on both sides and not with people who have 3 guests and are just running around the map betraying eachother. Thanks.
Number two, I would rather wait the extra 2-3 minutes, instead of having to quit, being temporarily banned, then being put in another game, then having to quit again because I have 5 kills within the first 3 minutes of the game, while everyone else has 0.
Your concept of this “making matchmaking longer” don’t make much sense when I’m forced to quit 2 games to find a fun game (along with a 15 minute temporary an in between).
I know Bungie used to have this in Halo 2. Then took it off. Then brought it into Halo 3. Then took it off. I’m sure it was on in the beginning of Reach, but now it’s not here.
All I’m asking for is to at least “prioritize” fair games, if after 2 minutes a fair game can’t be made, oh well, everything can’t be one’s way.
I always have this problem. Even in Squad Slayer where parties are supposed to be somewhat fair, i get a party of 4 scrubs on split screen and its a 1-4 party of beasties on the other team. I’ve tried searching for skill but that seems to make it worse. Now I just bite the bullet and stick to Rumble Pit of no one I know is on, or jam some firefight for the fun of it…also old retro campaigns cuz they’re usually more fun than Reach these days:(
