I have been playing Invasion for awhile now and still have yet to see Breakpoint come up. Im starting to feel like I’ll never get that achievement.
That’s because the other players don’t have the Noble Map Pack. Making it free would solve this issue since who the hell buys such an old map pack? Doubt it makes that much money anymore, all it would it take is 343 announcing it becomes free and the downloads will commence. This would allow Breakpoint to show up more often in theory since pretty much every player won’t want to miss out on something free.
Oh and before the flames start, i have and paid for all the DLC maps for Reach. I really do feel for those who want to play DLC maps but can’t because they hardly show up (even with the retweaked DLC weightings) and feels like a waste of points (sans Anniversary DLC, it has it’s own playlist where you are guaranteed to play on the remake maps). In conjunction with my radical theory, making DLC required would be the next step and with a free map pack or two, this doesn’t become a problem.
I have yet to see the fruits of this so-called DLC re-weighting myself.
If anyone just wants to try and boost these cheevo’s my gt is “poppin curbs” and i’m totally down.
I think the DLC needs to be weighted to somewhere around a 99% chance or above to even have a remote chance of anyone getting to play it…
I feel like a -Yoink- for buying the DLC and only getting to play it in the premium playlist. I hope they are able to fix it because I won’t make the same mistake again with future Halo games.
They need to make certain playlist DLC required. That’s the only and best solution. It’s not fair for us who paid money for these map packs to have longer search times because we bought the maps.
They aren’t going to make any reach map pack free for at least 4-5 years, hell the mythic 2 map pack on Halo 3 isn’t free yet, and 343i wouldn’t do it because it’s microsoft who controls the prices.
Not to mention that there isnt even a Premium Playlist anymore so what the hell?
No. Reweightening is pure bulls**t, I was with a party of 7 people on Team Slayer, and ONE guy shows up, no maps. Bring back the DLC playlists!!
Predictable result was predictable.

Want to know one of the other main reasons people loved Halo 2? Everyone had the DLC (eventually), so they weren’t stuck with just the maps that shipped with the game.

Agree, except I love DLC but despise the way its owners are treated. And to rub salt in the wound, the playlist page hasn’t been updated. It still shows Premium Battle as a playlist – which is tantamount to false advertising (buy the DLC and play it in Premium Battle!]. Such carelessness is inexcusable and unprofessional. I am indignant over this callous treatment of Reach’s biggest supporters (those who buy DLC). It makes no sense, although it makes much cents. And that’s punishing.

I honestly think the best solution would be lowering the price or making it free. Not like it’s even worth anything anyway. DLC Requiring playlists may help as well.

The best solution would to bring back premium battle and only have noble/defiant required or make certain playlists dlc required like halo 3 did.
Microsoft makes the prices for the map packs and they aren’t going to drop the prices anytime soon, even a Halo 3 map pack isn’t free or reduced yet.
I got Breakpoint in Invasion for the first time today. It took me about 20 tries, but I got it.
DLC owner from Australia here. I’m a free-for-all guy, and I can count the number of times I’ve come across DLC maps on one hand. Super Frustrating.
343 and MS, you need to encourage and reward players who stick with your game, rather than fragmenting the community. The 10th Anni of Halo was an excellent opportunity to give away map packs in order boost interest in the title - instead we get more paid DLC that further splits the community. This kind of business model may have worked in days past, though the almighty rise of COD has changed the gaming landscape. Evolve - or watch Halo lose further market / mind share. Noble and Defiant should be free - further, the Anni maps should be integrated into the regular playlists.
Oh, and as for DLC weighing, how about adding it to the Psych profile?

Couldn’t agree more.
People who are against the DLC integration obviously haven’t bought it. But, I guess they’re worth more to 343 than those who continue to support them.
You can bet your -Yoink- I won’t buy DLC for Halo 4 unless it’s integrated and required.

Yeah ive had a non default map come up once since and it was an anniversary map (which has its own playlist).
MAKE THE NOBLE PACK FREE AND A REQUIREMENT
As someone who bought both the DLCs and Anniversary, I would love the first two DLC to be made free, if only to make it so my purchase wasn’t a complete an utter waste of money…
