What happened to Halo?

Do not post about forum moderation. If you have questions or concerns, PM a moderator.

I remember when forums were not really worth anything and the best thing was getting on your Xbox and using a mic.
Remember game released 2015…

  • Now we have warzone which is still has folks cheating and glitching in with no sign of an update still. - They basically force the forums and waypoint side also because if want a company or armor or packs for free you need to login here which is sad so I will write how I feel but then heres the kicker, because I express opinions the post either gets locked or user gets suspended.I mean I could list a lot of issue and failed attempts to where I feel like I’m at MCC but I can’t even post a comment without monitors jumping on it saying it’s “negative” towards the game. Well then fix it or get rid of the forums so we can get back to the roots of halo. I run a spartan company and lose members weekly due to always being Halo is the issue not my Xbox.
I would share more experiences but most likely would be suspended for speaking freely yet its considered TRUTH but because its not positive I guess it gets locked.
Share your experience since 2015… Be reminded I bought my Xbox for me and my son day one expecting this great H5 launch and here we are 5 months and a new years later and neither of us want to pick up a controller these days its getting harder by the so called “updates” monthly. Very subpar for what we pay for, its all digital can not pick up my Arena Pack at the local store to take home its not real its a video game, yet I pay for it for my son and I when I do have downtime and yet they keep emailing and reminding me via web about there “FREE” in caps monthly updates to come and I haven’t even noticed the last ones from day one to be honest, only that you keep bringing loved playlists like double then taking it back. Such a shame but I hope they turn it around quick. Hard these days for my son to now do homework (If he does it when home first then he can get on its his reward) because he only liked halo but now he dislikes it he gets booted from servers “dedicated” or runs into guys who just only want to blare music if they do use a mic or horrible teammates because there is no social for them. Its very sad I have to post this but almost half a year with little to no change, I feel we are being shunned because if newcomers or anyone who actually looks at is this game worth its value to a lot of us we are realizing its not.
(apologize if typos using new Mac today)
    Thanks

Everyone kept saying “get good”. 343 listened. Thats what happened to Halo

Seriously Halo 5, in my opinion, is vastly superior to the other games in the franchise.

you must of missed CE,2,3 then sir. I get booted like Im in MCC whats the “get good” part ? To clarify has nothing to do with my internet.

I get the idea of rotating playlists, but there are certain ones they need to leave in there. Doubles, Snipers, and Assault should stay. Keep them there at all times. I’m certain the population isn’t low enough for that many playlists to spread everybody that thin, the game’s constantly in top ten most played on XBL. Keep those playlists in there. Then rotate Fiesta, Shotty Snipes, Swords, FFA Rockets (Rocket Rumble, whatever it was called), etc.

I’m not sure what you mean, OP, about not picking up your Arena Pack at the store, it’s digital regardless of whether they send it to you through the internet or waste plastic burning the same “1s” and “0s” onto a disc. But the idea is that the updates are the lieu of paid DLC that most franchises offer. Like how Battlefront offers new maps, modes, skins and weapons for $20 every few months. Halo 5 does not. And we can (and often do) argue over the quality of these or whether they should be included in the first place, but we’ve been doing that about DLC for years and years anyway regardless of price, so personally I think what 343 is doing is a step in the right direction for one major reason: everyone gets these updates and the population doesn’t get divided between buyers and non-buyers like it did in previous Halo titles.

I hear you… the Xbox one itself seems worse than the Xbox 360 as it’s slow and operating system is crap. MCC was a complete botch and by the time they got it working somewhat most had given up on it. Now H5 is built around competitive play so yeah majority of the casual crowd isn’t going to like it. There is a lot of room for improvement in the game and some are coming. I love H5 despite its short falls. These updates are a love hate for me… it’s awesome we are getting new content every month so it’s something to look forward to but at the same time most of it so far is stuff we probably should have had and cosmetics that don’t even matter. I just don’t get why 343 can’t seem to find that good middle ground to appeal to more players… They made H4 way to casual and most lost interest quick. Now the made H5 so competitive again a lot lose interest quick. Hopefully the next few updates really bring some good changes and content. I am really looking forward to when they add action sack and warzone fire fight… Also warzone turbo was pretty fun.

Yea I had my fingers crossed for first three months, don’t think I will pick up the controller again until I see a real update if one at all. But Still play Reach and my original Halo’s more than this which is sad lol Also understand already hit level 150 working with my sons account I would play sometimes he’s at school and wow he was right, I played FFA and got to Champion on that profile just from people disconnecting even if I took last because someone got DNF from halo end you always level up so thats the plus I guess

Just don’t see how Video developers can get away with this at this point feeling robbed buying all those packs for my son. Thought it was also supporting real updates, not patches just to fix the last patch.

Again why these forums annoy me. My son can’t even be on here how hard is it to say how is it the one slow? Which isn’t even a sentence. Smh I absolutely have to throw in a small cuss for what? No reason at all.

I agree the interface he’s talking about. A classic version I would take over Xbox one but then again we are talking halo. But yes they updated it but even XB1 launch was fail with to first setup. Booted. from chat every 30 minutes takes 3 mins to go back to home screen… Yea it needs constant updates defiantly agree. It’s not slower I believe it’s just the software that’s so slow. Or making it slow not sure but defiantly understand that since I have both here my 360 starts up and moves around way faster noticeable for sure.

Play customs. They are sooo much more fun, plus you only play with people you know. Sorry you and your son cant enjoy split screen :frowning: But i play mostly custom games, hit me up with a message. I’ll show you the side of Halo that few people ever care to venture into

He means “How is the Xbox One ‘slow’?”

Here’s how:

Original Xbox: 64mb of RAM
Xbox 360: 514 mb of RAM
Xbox One: 8gb of RAM

Xbox One has the processing power of 16 Xbox 360s or 125 original Xboxes. It runs three (3) operating systems AT THE SAME TIME. When I’m playing Halo 5, then switch to watching Netflix, Halo 5 is still running in the background. I can also snap a web browser to the side. Hell, I can play Halo 5, stream it to Twitch, take screenshots, all while having Netflix running in the background waiting for me without interrupting a damn thing or ending a single process if I so please.

ANSWER: it’s not slow at all. It just takes a few seconds to do what over one hundred original Xboxes could not.

Correct thats public knowledge… But we are talking in general it can have 32GB it won’t matter if the software for Xbox is slow… More GB or RAM does not mean faster processing software speeds… Think you skipped a few posts or processes. The GB and if specific Xbox cheaper for DDR3 RAM which is slower bandwidth then PS4 DDR5 RAM. So folks who do not know or build computers, numbers don’t always mean exactly as they say on the side of a box. You copy and paste your info in a google search not cool, then claim to know the issues when I feel like he just wanted a free forum post. But hey, freedom of speech.

SO YOUR answer is : WRONG lol  Since we using CAPS

I didn’t google a damn thing. If i’m going to spend hundreds of dollars on a console, I want to know what it’s using. The Xbox One, if it only did what the 360 could do, it would be lightening fast. But if it only did what the 360 did, that wouldn’t be much of a console upgrade, would it?

And the answer is absolutely correct. The console does have faster processing speeds. You just don’t see it because, again like I said, it runs three operating systems. It keeps your game running in the background while you watch Netflix. You can play a game, stream to Twitch, watch a movie in snap, and have your party open in the sidebar all while recording clips and taking screenshots if you like. All at the same time. To me, that’s fast. If you want it to be able to behave like an 11 year old system only faster, then I guess we can do away with these features (even though I don’t know anyone who actually does all that stuff at the same time. lol). Or we can waste 10 minutes complaining on the internet about the 15 seconds it takes to launch a video game. Those 15 seconds are precious, we could have used those complaining about how the Elites in Halo 3 were slightly cooler looking than Elites in Halo 4 but not as cool as Halo Reach. I mean, come on, we have priorities and limited time on this Earth people! LOL!

Processing speeds now come directly from the Ram not the CPU? Geese I should send customers more PC’s without the CPU and see if they get mad lol. And yes would love the 11 year old system with just the updated settings, not all the fancy stuff no one cares about its a video game. lol not life or death here. Also, you don’t need to run more than one app at a time, if you play halo you enter halo. If you watch netflix you go to netflix. Telling me your monitor and Xbox One is special and can split screen netflix and halo? If not then its a pointless RAM update which again is not the CPU***. And if you can do that split screen with netflix while playing halo same monitor well your xbox was tampered with and if need a repair they won’t send it back due to breaking Xbox Guidelines.

Those 15 seconds are precious, we could have used those complaining about Elites in Halo 3 were slightly cooler looking than Elites in Halo 4 but not as cool as Halo Reach. I mean, come on, we have priorities and limited time on this Earth people! LOL!

But either way I don’t care not here for common knowledge PC talk. Original comment was halo just so everyone knows lol

Yeah, that’s why I said “even though I don’t know anyone who actually does all that stuff at the same time”, and yes I know what CPU is.

And yes, you can watch Netflix and play Halo on the same TV. It’s called “Snap”. Try it, it’s … well, it’s cool, but you can’t really focus on either of them.

Which makes it a pointless feature to only slow down operations faster. You claim you know PC and RAM lol well you can have 8GB but when the interface takes up most of it while using it more than a percentage at the 360 rate of use. Then yea you are wrong, sure more speed but more to handle which means in Simple Term : Xbox 360 interface is faster than the XB1 you can youtube the video on that one via google also. Anyways off to my own place of business. Hope shortly these coming months halo comes back, if not 15 years was fun but won’t miss it. Can’t miss a game you’ve yet to fully enjoy issue free. Have a good day everyone, if commenting please be here for real comments and replies not google and trolling answers or just a one word comment. They force us to use these forums atleast can we use them correctly lol. Thanks have good day folks

I started playing Halo in 2001 when i was 16. My entire response was based around the title of this thread. I, honestly, didnt read a word of your op.
