At the start of S2 they really made it seem like they were going to fully embrace the idea of cross core and start putting real effort into fixing infinite’s customization but here we are nearly at S3 9 months later and all we have gotten is visors and no mention of what is coming next. At first I thought it must be due to them working on something difficult like coatings but now I’m not really sure anymore. Feels like they just gave us visors to shut us up and moved on. I hope we see something with the launch of S3 but their complete silence regarding it doesn’t help.
I’m hoping that this is not a forgotten concept, but it feels a bit demoralizing that after all the bad news and layoffs, it feels like the game is being put out to pasture in favor of possibly other titles. Infinite has so much potential, but its just delay after delay, extended seasons, and minimal seasonal content when a new one comes. No story expansions, the sandbox is greatly reduced, and the servers are clunky as sin. I want this game to succeed and see it evolve into its full potential, but so far 343 has given us very few reasons to believe that. I’m being as optimistic as I can, and hope that we can see some light at the end of the tunnel, and not train about to mow all the fans down.
If their development pipeline is anything like Bungie (who I only bring up because we actually got some insight about theirs recently via the latest TWAB), it’s probably in development for S3 or later seasons
They couldnt even get the Santa Hat on anything other than Mark V-> V & Cavallino helmets. I’d imagine cross core stuff is a ways away from ever happening.
Meanwhile some of the cross-core they did apply has some clipping issues for no reason on helmet attachments.

What’s also surprising is that they cant even get armor coatings (different colors) onto all cores. I get that accessories may be harder to match up but coloring of the 5 available armors… its kinda a downer.
It is a bad sign that we haven’t heard about it since they announced working on it. Sadly we just have to wait until season 3 to see what we get. If it’s nothing then I’m just completely giving up on infinite. Although with the winter update we did get an interesting bot glitch with them wearing the Mk VII helmet with the other cores so that could be a sign of them getting things prepared for cross core. I’m not gonna hold my breath though.
Well, considering the fact that Halo MCC had 343 announce that Dedicated Custom Browsers will be “arriving in a couple months” and then it took them nearly 30 months to even implement the first Dedicated CGB into MCC and after 40+ months we had 4 of the 6 multiplayers have access to Custom Game Browsers… … … … it is safe to say that deadlines should be ignored when announced publicly.
Yes but Bots use default skins typically and not other skins.
While default armor coatings are more universal, we have seen that other skins are tailored to a specific armor core and need more time to polish the texturing for cross-core.
Time that is not being utilized.
