What happened to Bubble Shield

I was looking through the Halo Waypoint Halo Universe, and I found that they have bubble shielda still. I play Halo 5 and I don’t see anything resembling a Bubble Shield. Any thoughts…?

You’re extremely late to the party. Reach’s armor abilities and Halo 3’s equipment were replaced entirely with Spartan Abilities for Halo 5’s gameplay.

I’m assuming that bubble shields still exist in universe, however in game, they kind of slow the firefight down, possibly a bit too much.

They rolled out of the game.

There in HALO 3 and REACH.

ONI probably snapped them all up. See; the hologram thing Locke uses in Nightfall.

That was the point. The game used to be halo not some other version of COD.

In the SpartanBundle, I thought bubble shield present in the Strike was actually a more overbent version of the standard regen-field, which the latter one in terms of any competetive system seems much more fair. Bubble shield allows one to just stand still, being invulnerable to any ranged attacks. including cast grenades. Regen-field allows one to endure more but not to the extent of being invulnerable, therefore massive damage could still take one down even under it. Yeah, I know the SpartanBundle does not count but y’know, I am a PC dude so this is all I have from Halo.

Ah, the old bubble shield… in H3 it looked and sounded way cool

What about the regular Spartan Shield, does anyone recall such thing? Found it the most useless armor ability in the SpartanAssault. Maybe if it was a 180 degrees cover, it could be better, but since it negated any ability to attack while on, next to slowing down movement speed to one equaling moving and shooting a gun - thus the pace of simply walking - while providing actually a very narrow angle of defense, it was a ridiculously flawed choice. The only thing I would actually remove from the game without even noticing any difference.

Funny how the only real example of Halo gameplay I have are the least important titles. I played Halo 5 Forge multiplayer but felt too unfamiliar with all the stuff, while lacking any ambition to big time catch on, to dig it. But it seemed devoid of armor abilities such as the ones mentioned in this thread.

But y’know, this is funny thing. Microsoft should actually give PC players some good Halo example to make the PC dudes at least get a proper idea of the thing instead of alienating the PC and the console audiences with mismatching impressions, especially that SpartanBundle was unpopular among the console guys.

Ka Five has lots of Hard Light Shield loadouts in Halo 4.

That was the worst thing I ever tried.

My favorite part was how you set them all up, then we stopped playing.

So then the next time we played, you forgot that ALL your loadouts had HLS. I was in tears from laughing so hard.
